1

Start with a circle for the bloom, and then draw an eye like center. Next, draw the vertical line for the stem.

2

Begin drawing in the center of the buttercups flower like you see here.

3

Next, draw out the clove shaped petals as demonstrated for you here, and then add some minor detailing too.

4

Next, draw the step shape, and then draw the pieces of foliage at the base like you see here.

5

For your last drawing step, all you need to do is draw in some detailing on the petals, and then start erasing all the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.

6

Now that you are done, your pretty buttercup flower should look like the one you see here. All you have to do now is color it in yellow or white. Remember, if you chose to color the petals white, the center is supposed to be yellow.

Description: What have I uploaded so far today? Oh yeah that's right, nothing. Today, I figured I would start the day by submitting a lesson on "how to draw a Buttercup", step by step. This flower is a very popular bloom that grows on the lawns, sidewalks, and even in the forest. The first sign that buttercups have sprung from the ground, is when you see shiny looking yellow flowers with five petals scattered across the lawn. These flowers are very small in size, and because of that, they are not normally picked for bouquets, centerpieces, or used for décor. They come in two colors, white and yellow. Even though these small plants are given the name “buttercup”, these flowers are actually quite toxic to many field grazing animals if eaten. It's not only the buttercup plant that is toxic, all species of Ranunculus are poisonous when munched on by horses, cows, sheep, and any other animal that depend on grassy acreage for a source of food. I have always thought that these little flowers where shiny, and vibrantly yellow because they where edible. I have no idea if buttercups are poisonous to humans, but I'm sure if large animals like horses and cows can die from eating these plants, there must be some kind of effect for us humans. I would have to research further into that situation. There is over six hundred different types of plants from the Ranunculus family, and as I said before the buttercup is one of them. This tutorial is being done to fill a request that was made a few days ago. So, let me shut up so you can start learning "how to draw a buttercup", step by step. The lesson itself is really simple to replicate, just as the dandelion was. Anyway, have fun, and meet me back here in a few for more drawing fun. Peace peeps!
