How to Draw Mario

Hello all and welcome back to DragoArt.Com. Today this is going to be another fun tutorial on "how to draw Mario", step by step". I know almost all of you know just who Mario is right? Well if you don't he is the all time popular video game character from Mario Bros. I remember when this game first cam out for the very first Nintendo game system. You remember the system, a square box with a flap in the front that came with a perfectly square controller. Oh man, those were the days. I remember sitting in front of my television for hours at a time, I'm talking about just being glued to the floor or chair, or what ever was available for me to sit on. I would even sit on a milk crate if I had to. The first game I ever played for Nintendo was Zelda, that was the best too. After that Mario hit my world in a big way. The noises associated with the game like when you press the jump button that "Boink" sound or when he would spit fire by getting the flower that would glow. Jumping and hitting your head under those bricks to see if you uncovered something special. I hated when I shrunk down to small size. I always use to be on a mission to get back my mushroom to make myself bigger. How about jumping on those bad guys threw the game. Half the time I didn't even know what the heck they were, I use to look at the game manual just to see exactly what I was stomping out of my way. Mario was the best though. You gotta admit, that game was the ultimate gamers game. I can also remember getting so excited when I would make the jump at the end of each level on that flag pole and getting extra points for almost jumping over the top. So many memories come to mind just talking about it. The whole purpose of the game was to rescue Princess Peach or Toadstool from the evil Bowser who was the king of the Koopas. Mario was an Italian plumber who fell down a pipe into another world filled with monsters who were Bowser's minions and his goal was to travel through eight levels of different types of castles and worlds just to get to the Princess. Each level had different monsters and they got harder and harder the closer you got to her. This game moved on over time and Mario became more and more advanced. To this day Mario and his adventures has been ranked the most popular video game of all time. Now you will get a chance to learn "how to draw Mario". You will have an awesome time because after you complete this tutorial you will be able to draw Mario any time you like. Grab your pencil and pad, jump down a pipe and start sketching until you come to your last level of completion. You can visit Nintendo's site too that has cool online Mario games. STEP 1.

In this first step lest start it off with you drawing out the guidelines and shapes to form a nice solid frame for Mario. Start by drawing out the shape of his head which is an egg shape and then draw facial guidelines on the front. Then draw out the shape of his pot belly torso as you see here a simple wide circle will do. Now draw out the shapes of his arms and legs.

STEP 2.

Next in this step you will start to draw in Mario's facial features. Using the facial guidelines you drew in step 1, draw in two oblong circles for his eyes, a big rounded nose circle, two half wing shapes attached to his nose for his awesome mustache, draw his eyebrows and the shape of his ear. Next start at the ear and make a straight line across his forehead for his hat and then go up and round it off. Draw a circle shape as shown in the middle of his hat which will display his emblem. Now move onto his body and start drawing out the straps for his farmer style pants. Next draw out and start shaping his gloves as you can see here.

STEP 3.

Now in this step you will essentially be finishing off his face. Draw in his eyeballs and shape the bottom half of his mustache which is a continuous line of "W"'s. draw the other side of his hat on the right and finish off his ears. Now draw a curved line right in the middle of his straps to separate the pants from the shirt and continue the separation on t5he right hand side where you will be drawing out the shape of his right arm as well. Give him a round button on his right strap and sketch in some detail lining. Next detail his gloves with a simple side way's "M" on the right glove to give the appearance of a closed fist. Repeat the detailing on the other hand and draw out his left shoe.

STEP 4.

All you will be doing here is shading in his pupils and detailing his hat a bit as shown. Draw in the famous "M" in the middle of his hat. Detail and shape his right glove a bit more and draw out and detail his right shoe. After you are done with all the drawing and detailing erase all the guidelines and shapes you drew in step 1.

Everyone's all like 'This shouldn't be at number 1' as if you're the one who controls the top 50.... stupid You can't help it,right? Besides,I think this is one of the many pieces of work I've seen that's suitable for the Number 1 spot.Angry Birds have simple designs, but it's not always the highly-detailed stuff that make the best artwork. At least, not in my opinion. smile smile
