In this first step you will be drawing out the guidelines and shapes of the raccoon. Start with the head which is a plumply looking circle. Sketch in some facial guidelines for the face. Next draw out the shape of the body as shown which is also very

Next what you will be doing in this step is start sketching in the shapes of the toes and tail. Make lines for the toes as shown and then draw out the shape of his busy tail. After that draw out the scratchy lining for the shape of his front limbs as

Now as you can see the raccoon will look like this when you are done sketching out this next step. Start with the face and sketch in his eyes first then his mouth. After you do that sketch in the rough lines to form the mask that is over the raccoons

You are almost done with this adorable creature of the night. Shade in the eyes and detail the face a bit more as shown. After that detail his tail and then you can erase the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one. You are practically done n

Description: Hello ya’ll and welcome to my humble tutorial on "how to draw a raccoon". Raccoons are very cute animals of the night. Even though they are very mysterious and kinda creepy, they still manage to stay looking innocent and lovable. I will now talk about some interesting facts about the raccoon. As some may know they are native animals to North and South America. Believe it or not the name raccoon comes from the Algonquin tribe meaning “arakun” which also translates into “one who scratches his hands”. Now the weight and height of the Common Raccoon is about 32 inches long including the tail and weighs 11 to 18 pounds. Raccoons that live further north can weight up to 35 pounds and it is recorded that the largest raccoon weighed in at a whooping 60 pounds. You may think that these animals live long lives in the wild because they are so secretive and sneaky, but the fact is they only live for only 7 years which is rather odd and unexpected. One good thing that lengthens the life span of a wild raccoon by double is when they are held in captivity. I bet your wondering what kind of “vore” these cat like bears are, well they are actually omnivores. Omnivores have a diet that includes many different types of food, for example the raccoons diet consist of but not limited to; frogs, crayfish, fish, birds, eggs, fruits, nuts, grains, small mammals and insects. When raccoons live in coastal areas, they often come out and have normal daytime activity even though they are mostly active at night. Nocturnal animals rarely come out in the day, so when you see animals like a possum or raccoon, you automatically think they must have rabies or some other dieses. The habitats for many raccoons are usually self made dens inside hollowed trees, or underground borrows. Although at times you will catch those using abandon buildings for shelter due to loss of habitat which is sad for any animal that lives in the wild. Man kind has to take a step back and think about how we are consuming everything that is available to us without the concern for other living things. No wonder why there are so many different species of animals that are becoming more endangered these days. Especially the ones that are really limited by numbers like panda bears, and koala bears. I thought that it would be nice to make a tutorial on an animal that everyone is familiar with, not only that but because I haven’t done a tutorial on an animal in a long time so here you go. Today you will learn how to draw a raccoon step by step. The detailed instructions will show you how easy it is to draw out one of these cute night time creatures.
