These last three lessons are going to be animal related. I feel like I need to add more birds, and fish to these specific categories because there are a lot of birds and fish that are very popular that I do not have. This third lesson is going to show you "how to draw a finch", step by step. Finches are beautiful birds that come in all different colors. The type I drew is called an “American goldfinch, or yellow finch”. This species is the state bird of New Jersey, Iowa, and Washington. What makes this type of bird so beautiful, is the vibrant yellow feathered coat. It's yellow body is capped with a shiny black head and black wing tips. I can remember sitting outside a few times last summer, and I saw a yellow bird fly from one tree to the other. The same bird did this once a day for a month. After that I never saw it again. After I researched the types of yellow birds that are native to my northern area, I found out that it was indeed a finch. There are so many different types of finches, that naming them all will be time consuming. I will however give you a brief idea on the many types. Are you ready to start? Good, let's go. We already know about the American goldfinch right, well there is also house finches, the cassin finch, and purple finch to name a few. Yellow finch love eating Thistle seed, and it's even better when they are feeding on this seed in your backyard using a thistle seed feeder. If you are lucky enough to have a group of yellow finches feeding on your feeders, it would be a beautiful site every time they came. I guess that is all I have to say about this bird species for now. It's time that you learn "how to draw a finch", step by step. This pretty yellow bird is going to be relatively easy to draw, and I think you will see that drawing birds isn't always as hard as you think it is. I will be back again because there is still two more lessons to upload. Have fun, and keep smiling and drawing.
