How to Draw Fairies

1

This is not an instruction drawing step, it's more like a brief description on the three different types of ears that many fairies are drawn with. These ears can also be used in elves, as both creatures are very similar in appearance. Out of the thre

There are three types of wings that I drew here to show some of the different options that you have when it comes to drawing fairy wings on your fantasy being. For me the first wing is my favorite because the membrane is more detailed then the other

Start by drawing out the body frames in the poses and positions that your figures will be drawn in. This also includes the shapes of the heads. You can choose to draw both fairy girls, or just one.

4

Begin sketching out the shapes of their faces, and then add the outlines for the eyes, nose, and mouths. The fairy to the left has some hair drawn out as you can see by the sketched step.

Both fairies, have their faces drawn in during this step. Finish the hair style for the figure to the left, as well as the figure to the right. You will then choose the type of ear you want to draw in your fairy. Once you make your selection, start s

Finish sketching out the hair styles, and then start drawing the torso's beginning with the necks, shoulders and arms. Once that is done you can sketch the breast or chest area. Add some detailing to both girls, and then move to the next step.

Finish drawing out the arm shapes on both figures. Once that is done add some decorative detailing on their bodies. For instance, the fairy to the left is wearing arm socks, and then fairy to the right is wearing a necklace. Draw the flowery like shi

You are almost done. Before you get to work on the wings, you will need to sketch out the hat, ears, and skirts that the girls are wearing. After this is complete you can tweak the faces and detailing a bot more. Now you can start drawing out the win

Now that you have come to your end, all you need to do now is sketch out their legs, and shoes. The fancy dressed fairy is wearing shoes that are wispy at the tips, and have straps that wrap around her ankles. Draw her long ponytail as you see here a

In the end your beautiful active fairies look like the ones you see here. You can now pick and choose between the types of colors you want to shade in your characters with. I do hope this lesson was helpful. I had a ton of fun drawing with you all to

Description: I was working long and hard on this tutorial that I'm submitting, and even though I have more then a few lessons on a fairy, I thought it would be nice to give you all a full blown teaching that will show you "how to draw fairies", step by step. When someone submits a tutorial on fairies, you have to make sure to teach the viewer and or artist all the ins and outs of these beautiful, dainty creatures. For insistence, in this lesson I not only show you how to draw the fairy characters, I also give you brief instructional steps on the different types of wings, and ears that these beings commonly have. Even though I have the playful looking fairy as my main picture for this tutorial, my favorite is the girly looking one with the pretty eyes. I also like her pose better as well. She reminds me of a fairy that sits on a mushroom all day long singing soft songs as she plays with her hair. Her friend on the other hand likes frolicking through the forest picking flowers, and chasing birds and bees. In all I think you guys will like this tutorial. I know it is going to be very helpful to those that want to improve on their fairy drawing skills. To learn "how to draw fairies", is the same as drawing any other fantasy being in existence. I don't know about you but, I am extremely fond of Disney fairies too, and maybe I will do a tutorial on them as well I will be back shortly with some more drawing fun. In the mean time, hang in there and keep on making sketches.
