There are so many animals that are interesting, unique, and odd. Today I thought I would submit a tutorial that will teach you an easy way to learn "how to draw a yak", step by step. This animal species is probably one of the more popular in existence, and yet no one talks about, or made any form of request to have this creature as a tutorial. What makes the yak unique looking is the amount of hair that is all over it's body. The undercoat to one of these animals is dense, soft, and extremely close to the skin or close matted. The outer coat is long, shaggy, and can either be brown or black in color. The hair is so long, that it almost touches the ground and even covers most of the yak's hooves. In pictures the long outer coat almost reminds me of messy dreadlocks. Anyway, yaks grow to reach almost one thousand pounds based on the amount of food they eat, as well as the stability of their environment. In pictures this animal looks to be stubby, and quite short. The fact is, their shoulder height is nearly seven feet high. They live in high elevated places during the summer months because there is snow covered ground which means they can keep comfortable with all that hair on their backs, and in the winter months they travel down the mountain so the frigid air isn't so intense. Naturally they live amongst groups of thirty or more yak, but they have been known to travel in larger groups of up to two hundred. As with many great plain animals they eat grass, herbs, and lichen, which is nothing more then algae or fungus. As you can tell by their appearance, they are close relatives to cattle. They are mainly found in central Asia, and are also considered to be a domesticated animal in some parts. Since I know there are no tutorials on these animals, I think you will have fun learning "how to draw a yak", step by step. I shall return again with some more drawing fun, so keep your eyes peeled to see what pops up next.
