How to Draw a Mole
There is an odd creature that I happened to start reading about while I was riding shotgun in my friends car. The article was in an animal magazine, and I found it to be quite interesting. The animal I am going to give you a lesson on is a mole. Now, let's get one thing clear, I know that there is such a thing as these critters, but who really even thinks about them? I mean, if it wasn't for the article I was reading, I wouldn't even have thought about doing a tutorial on “how to draw a mole". Not only are they odd, they are very strange looking as well. From what I've gathered, they are indeed mammals, and they can be found in varies places in the Northern Hemisphere. They sort of look like a cross between rats, and groundhogs. I say rats because their hides or fur come in either black or gray, and they are small like rodents too. Moles normally grow to be six inches in length from nose to tail, but the ones that are found in North America, can grow to be nine inches. These types are called “western moles”. There is a few different species of mole too which is interesting. In some cartoons, creators depict these animals to be blind, and deaf. That's because their ears are not external, but they seem to have sharp hearing capabilities. Remember when I said that they are also are considered blind? Well, that's because their small eyes are covered with skin or fur. Despite this, they are still sensitive to changing light. Moles also have an intense sense of touch that is based at the ends of their noses and tails. Speaking of noses, if you where to look at one of these animals, you will see that the nose is one of the more predominate parts of their body. The other are their feet, which are strong, and are literally used like shovels. Since moles live beneath the earth, they have to dig tunnels to live in and thrive. Not only are they excellent underground travelers, moles are good swimmers too. As for their diet, as you can imagine they eat earth worms, but sometimes they will feed on mice and even another mole. They are solitary animals that only travel in pairs when mating season arrives. All in all this species is pretty incredible. As for me, I had fun "drawing a mole", and I think you will too. Oddly, there isn't any lessons online that can teach you how to draw one of these animals which is pretty strange because they are pretty popular. Well that does it for this tutorial description. Have fun with the lesson, and let me know what you think when you are done. Adios!
