How to Draw a Flower Tattoo

This is the second installment of one of the tattoo designs I was working on yesterday. It is a combination of a floral arrangement, and some tribal art in the background. The purple borders make the whole thing pop out and come together. This would make a perfect design for the lower back on a female, along the side of the rib cage with the tribal art wrapping around the torso, or even a smaller version for the wrist or ankle. The detailing is very minimal which makes it an excellent choice if you are looking for a unique tribal "flower tattoo" design without paying for it from an online tattoo book. I chose to use the lily to represent beauty and peace, and the mix of the green leaves makes a perfect color combination for the purple and yellow. Drawing flower tattoos can be easy if you find the right one to replicate. As for this one, you should be able to draw this pattern in a flash because there is hardly any little parts included if you don't count the stamens in the center of the flower. All you ladies out there will fall in love with this tutorial that shows you "how to draw a flower tattoo". All you have to do is follow the simple instructions, and you will be on your way to creating the perfect design concept. I guess that's it for now, but I will return later with some more drawing fun on the way. Peace out people and have a happy Saturday night!

how to draw a flower tattoo step 1

STEP 1.

Draw a circle for the center of the center of the drawing. Next draw flaps along the sides of the round shape until your drawing looks like a kiddish sun. Next draw the guidelines for the green leaves.

STEP 2.

Now you will draw each pedal the way you see them here. They should be chunky in the center, and then thin out at the ends. It should almost look like a fat starfish.

STEP 3.

Draw some dimples in the center of each pedal, and then draw six stamens in the center. You can choose a different type of flower for your tattoo if you like, or you can stick with the one you see here. The choice is yours.

STEP 4.

Now the fun begins. Draw the connecting green leaves which are actually called "sepals". This will break up the purple coloring in the tutorial if you choose to use that shade. If you go with another color like pink, blue or yellow, the green should stay the same to add a peaceful flow.

STEP 5.

Now lastly, draw the tribal pattern that comes n three parts. There is a pattern in the front, and on both sides. This tribal design should remain razor like to break up the roundness from the flower. Once the patter is drawn out you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 6.

And this is what your drawing comes out looking like when you're done. Color it in, or print out this step to bring to the tattoo parlor. I had such an awesome tome drawing out this tattoo flower, and I hope you did too.
