I'm sure you guys already know that Shrek Forever After is coming out this year right? It's the fourth and final chapter to the Shrek saga. Because of that I want to be prepared by having some of the more popular characters from the very funny, colorful movie. I loved both one, two, and the third, so waiting for four which is the final chapter is making me very figity every once in a while whenever I get a glimpse of the trailer. Now, since I have Shrek, Donkey, and Puss, I thought it was only right to give you guys a tutorial on “how to draw Fiona”, step by step”. Princess Fiona is voiced by the very funny and talented Cameron Diaz. Fiona is one of my favorite characters, but she is not as strong as Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots. Antonio Banderas does an awesome job as a voice actor for the small, dangerous feline, as does Eddie Murphy as Donkey. Mike Myers has been a favorite comedian of mine since Waynes World, and even today when I watch his old movies I still get a good laugh. Anyways, lets get back to Fiona shall we? At the end of "Shrek the Third", Fiona and her hubby had their family which consisted of a set of ogre triplets that is in the combination of two boys and one girl. In "Shrek Forever After", it takes picks up where Third left off only this time the big ogre is a family man now. A lot has happened since the episode in Far Far Away, instead of Fiona and Shrek having to worry about being hunted, they are signing pitch forks. In the new movie comes new fairy tale characters like Rumpelstiltskin who inevitably makes a deal with Shrek and turns his life upside down. Fiona is no longer his wife, Donkey has no clue who he is, and Puss in Boots as an incredibly fat cat. Either way you look at it the final chapter will be a big hit because all the rest where, and because the story lines are well written. I have to modify this version of Fiona, so when drawing her please note that I know what needs to be fixed (eye color, nose, etc). Look for the updated version later today. In the mean time, have fun drawing Princess Fiona, step by step. Peace peeps, and keep those pencils moving.

How to Draw Fiona

how to draw fiona step 1

STEP 1.

Draw the basic guidelines and shapes to form a workable frame for your character. Start with a circle for the head, and then draw out the outlining shape of her body from torso to shin.

STEP 2.

Now that the framework is done start sketching out the shape of Fiona's facial structure as you see here. Next sketch the strands of her hairstyle and notice how her ogre ears stick our from the sides. You will need to draw the ears out too.

STEP 3.

Finish sketching out her hair, and then draw the crown above her brow. Next, draw the eyebrows, eyes, nose, and frown lines that form from the sides of the nose. Draw the outline of Fiona's crossed arms as you see here and proceed onto the next drawing step.

STEP 4.

Give her a mouth and or lips, and then finish drawing her arms and hands. As you know ogre's are very large creatures of myth, so a female version will not be skin and bones, more like thick and hearty. Lightly sketch in the collar bones, and then draw the arch of her back line, and draw the "V" like design strip that goes around her waist.

STEP 5.

All you need to do here is draw out the length of her gown, and then add some rippling lines to give her dress more detail and definition. That's all you have to do here, let's move to the last drawing step to finish off the princess of Far Far Away!

STEP 6.

Well this is it, the beginning of the end. Draw Fiona's ankles, and then her shoes which happens to be a pair of flats. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to prepare her for her pretty ogre green color.

STEP 7.

She's ready to be colored in. Grab your green marker, crayon, colored pencil, or even paint to make her features flourish with emerald wonder. I had fun drawing with you all, and be sure to join me again. Enjoy guys!
