1

Make a round shape for the head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then add the vertical lines for the ears, and then draw a skirt like body shape for the Yorkie dog.

2

You will now utilize the facial guidelines by drawing out the circle shaped eyes, and then color them in leaving two clear spots alone. Next draw the shape of the nose, and then sketch out the first lining for the mustache, and chin hair.

3

You will now draw the erect ears, and then start sketching out the long hair that surrounds the head and later the face. Draw the bow on the head, and then move to the next step.

4

Finish sketching out the long mustache and then cap off the bottom of the hair line. To make the cat look plentiful, you will need to draw parted pieces at the ends as you see here.

5

To finish your sketch all you have to do is sketch out the back end of the Yorkie's body and then finish off the sides of the mustache. Add some detailing and then you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

6

See how cute your Yorkie drawing came out? All you need to do now is color it in. I do hope you guys join me again for more drawing fun!

Description: Here’s a tutorial on a pouch that everyone adores and dies over whenever they cross paths with this k-9. I will show you an incredibly easy way to learn "how to draw a Yorkie, step by step”. The full name for this dog breed is “Yorkshire Terrier” and they fall into the small or toy sized companion category. How small are they? Well, they weigh seven pounds, and they only get to be six or seven inches tall. That means they weigh as much as a newborn baby, but only half the size. The Yorkie is a very spunky and bold dog and sometimes they seem to forget that they are such a small size. Their coats are shiny, with tones of brownish gold and black, and their heads are sort of flat on top. You can definitely say that Yorkie’s are ankle bitters and they are one of the small breeds that like to bark a lot, and go after people’s feet. I had a friend that owned a Yorkshire Terrier, and that dog was vicious. Every time I stepped foot in her house it would come running toward only my feet. There is different coat styles for this dog. Some people have their mustaches trimmed to be short, and there are also some people that choose to have the breed’s coat long, combed, and tame with a pretty bow on it’s head. No matter what style coat they choose for their pets, one fact remains the same, they naturally have straight, shiny, silky coats that make them desirable to touch and pet. A well groomed Terrier is a happy pet because since their coats are naturally long, an mismanaged mane will usually lead to tangling problems. The dog I drew however looks cute as a button, and is fresh out of the doggie cleaners. You will enjoy this tutorial on “how to draw a Yorkie, step by step”. I shall return my fellow artists, with some more fun lessons for you all. Peace out and happy drawing!
