How to Draw Finn and Jake
Adventure Time with Finn and Jake is an animated cartoon series that is going to be airing on Cartoon Network very shortly. It was created by Pendleton Ward, and I guess he did an awesome job with the characters because it was nominated for an Annie Award for Best Animated Short Subject for 2006. Now, I submitted two separate lessons on the two main characters in the series, Finn and Jake. I will give you a quick recap on what the this comedy/adventure related series is about. First of all Finn is a twelve year old boy that hangs out with his twenty eight year old dog named Jake. Now Jake has magical powers and the show focuses on the two characters that travel through the Land of Ooo. The original name for Finn is Pen and I have to say, I like watching the cartoon because it is filled with hilarious story lines, and Jake, the dog, is the best. Finn is awesome too, but it is the look and characteristics of Jake that get me every time. Anyways, if you are familiar with this cartoon series, you already know what I'm talking about. Teaching you guys "how to draw Finn and Jake, step by step" is going to be fun because they are awesome, bright looking, and very colorful. My hat goes off to the creator, Pendleton Ward, he did such a great job. That does it for me, and for this tutorial. Meet me back here again so we can have more drawing fun together. Peace peeps!

STEP 1.
Draw two circles for the head shapes and then add the facial guidelines. Next draw out the outlined shapes of Finn and Jake's body and then add the limb lines which look a bit like spaghetti.
STEP 2.
Draw another circle shape for Finn's face and then start sketching out Jake's droopy jowls as you see here. Add a top lip and some teeth, and then draw the bottom line for his jaw and add the tongue.
STEP 3.
Draw the shape of Finn's hood that is a part of his suit, and then draw in his face by utilizing the facial guidelines. Next, draw Jake's big thick round brow lines and then draw the shape of his head and ears. You will then draw an arm that is behind Finn.
STEP 4.
Draw the skinny arms fort Finn and then draw the rest of his rectangular torso. Next sketch out the top of his legs and then draw the backpack he is wearing.
STEP 5.
For your last drawing step all you have to do is draw the rest of Finn's lower body which is his spaghetti like legs, and his socks and shoes. Next and lastly, finish sketching out Jake's body and then his arm and legs. You will start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that yo drew in step one.
STEP 6.
Here is what your characters look like when you are done. Color them in and you just drew Finn and Jake step by step. Join me again for another fun filled tutorial like the one we did here.Comments: Post Comment
