The groundhog was a fun lesson to enjoy wasn't it? I will now move my attention to yet another tutorial on an animal that can be found in three parts of the word, Asia, the Middle East, and of course Africa. This mammal is a beautiful species that is one of the main food supplies for other savanna animals like lions, hyenas, and even crocodiles. This tutorial is going to show you an easy way to learn “how to draw an antelope, step by step”. The antelope comes from the “Bovidae” family and there are over ninety species in existence. Now because the antelope comes from the same family that oxen, sheep, goat, and cattle do, the number of species of this animal is all for it's own class which is antelope. What makes them so popular? I think it's the horns. The horns or antlers on all antelope species, but with some races only males will have them. The horns consist of of a bony core, and then they are wrapped with a material called keratin. The difference between deer antlers and that of the antelope, is simple, the deer sheds their antlers every year, whereas the antelope's stay permanently attached. Hooves on these animals are also the same. They have a dividing split down the middle which turns into two toes. In the wild these animals can live up to twenty five years, and females will stay pregnant between four to nine months. Although the number of the animals are strong, there is a total of fifteen different species that are currently on the endangered list. I have always been fond of this animal and they are commonly seen in many zoos around the world. I know you guys will have fun “drawing an antelope, step by step”. I will be back later with some more drawing fun. Peace out and happy drawing!
