For one this is one of the few types of flowers that have only one bloom per stem. They come in many different colors, and are said to be one of the more attractive wildflowers that grow in large groups. Like their name, these blooms belong to the poppy family, and they come in very pretty colorful varieties like white, pink, red, blue, orange, and yellow. One of the unique characteristics of the poppy is the center design of it’s make-up. In the middle of the flower there is a core that looks like another bloom is growing. the stamens are surrounded by a cup shaped bowl that consists of six pedals. With the different colors that these plants come in, the density of shade also varies from a deep rich, to lovely pastel shades. The poppy is a plant that has been cultivated for many, many years, and I’m sure it will continue to be one of the worlds popular wildflowers to plant and grow.
