I can’t believe that I don’t have a tutorial on “how to draw a falcon, step by step”. I mean come on now people, no one ever said anything to me on how I was missing one of the most majestic birds in existence. Falcons where a big part of the medieval ages. These birds where used as messenger birds because they were small, swift, fast, and strong. The falcon is a bird that feeds on other birds as well as other animals like bats. They always hunt from flight, and when they see their prey, they will come down hard and strong reaching top speeds at two hundred miles per hour. These beautiful birds kill their prey by snapping their spins which will end the animals life almost instantly. The falcon, especially the peregrine, can be found almost everywhere except for Antarctica. During the twentieth century the amount of falcons that where in existence declined a great deal. With the help of rescue facilities and captive breeding programs, the population for the falcon has increased. This increase is said to be even greater then what it was before the major decline during the 20th century. These are also the birds that falconers use, and have used for centuries. They can reach lengths of up to twenty inches and have an average wingspan to almost four feet, and that my friend is absolutely amazing. Falcons can also weigh as heavy as four pounds, that may not seem too big, but for a bird to weigh this little and have a wingspan of of almost four feet, you know for a fact that the Peregrine is a fast flying bird. Learning “how to draw a falcon, step by step" is going to be fast, fun, and fantastic. I will be back later with three more tutorials for you all. See you soon, and happy drawing to all, and to all a fun night!

How to Draw a Falcon

how to draw a falcon step 1

STEP 1.

Start sketching out the guidelines and shapes that you will need to get your falcon started. First draw a circle for the head and then attach it to the circular shaped torso, and med-section. Once that is done you can then sketch out the shapes of the birds thighs, tail outline, and then draw the shape of the wings.

STEP 3.

Define the falcon's mouth in a more specific manor, and then draw the small circular eye. Sketch out the thighs and make sure that you feather up the backs of the birds thighs. Lastly draw out the clawed feet, and some of the lower leg. Also add some detail and definition to the head and body.

STEP 4.

Draw out shape and style of the wings and then draw out the tail. Once you have done that you can add the feather detailing, and then sketch out the stump that the falcon is standing on.

STEP 5.

For your last drawing step all you have to do is sketch out the left wing and be sure to sketch in the feather lines to add definition to the wing. Finish sketching out the leg and clawed feet, and then add some detailing to the stump. Erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one, and move to see what your bird should look like.
