You start by sketching out the shape of a face, and then move onto lightly sketching the shape of eyes. Once the eyes are drawn on a portrait, you move down not to draw the nose, but to start lining out the soft shape of the lips and mouth. Shading in some definition and detail along the chin, and cheeks will definitely add some accentuation to the jaw and face structure. Once the main aspects of the human face is drawn out, an artist will carefully start sketching out the nose. I am explaining to you how one would start a lesson that teaches you "how to draw noses". Like eyes, the nose can be a very, very difficult part of the face to get drawn right. This is because noses come in all different shapes, sizes, and widths. The best way to approach drawing a nose, is to lightly press down on your pencil at first, and then shape out the perfect nose that suits the face you are drawing. I love challenging tasks, which means I love drawing noses. In this tutorial you will use this lesson as a tool to show you the many different shapes, views, and sizes of the human nose. I think you will find this submission extremely helpful because I know for a fact that the middle part of someones face is the most difficult to draw, the eyes are second hardest. Well that's it, I will leave you to this lesson now. Be sure to explore the many different ways you can draw noses until you find the perfect fit. Adios amigos, and happy picking, I mean, drawing!

How to Draw Noses

how to draw noses
how to draw noses step 1

STEP 1.

There is only four simple steps to complete this tutorial on the nose. I have to say this is also going to be the very first lesson to fill the nose category. Start with some guidelines and shapes as you see in this step here.

how to draw noses step 2

STEP 2.

Use the very same guidelines you drew in step one to start sketching out the different shapes of various noses. Some noses are very narrow or straight, and then some are long and flat looking. Faces can also have a nose that is just nostril lines. These types are used on anime characters.

STEP 3.

For your last drawing step you will sketch out the shape of the nose bridges, and then the nostrils. After that you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one to come up with a clean looking nose for your character face you are drawing or want to draw.

STEP 4.

Here is what your sketched noses look like when you're done. That will do it for this tutorial on "how to draw noses, step by step". Hopefully you found this lesson helpful.
