How to Draw Happy from Fairy Tail

There is a new show that has been airing since October 2009 called Fairy Tail. It's a Japanese anime/manga series that follows a sixteen year old girl name Lucy as she enrolls in the Fairy Tail guild. It's almost like a combination of Harry Potter, Naruto, and Bleach mixed into one series. The first character that I will give you a lesson on is the very popular blue cat. Which means you will learn "how to draw Happy, step by step”. Happy is a quiet, blue colored cat who has magical powers and abilities. Happy is partnered up with Natsu, who is practically the main male character of the show and manga. I will also be giving you a drawing lesson on him as well right after I submit this one. Anyways, as you see in the image this cat has some pretty cool wings. I guess you could say he is a flying cat. When Happy uses his magic called “Aera”, a nice set of wings will grow on his back, but they don't permanently stay there. When he has these wings, Happy can carry at least one person while he is in this state. Now because Natsu often gets sick from traveling by other means, Happy will carry Natsu by flight because he doesn't get sick when he is being carried by Happy. In the story, Natsu finds Happy when he just just a little egg. He brought the egg back to his dwellings to try and care for it so it would hatch with the help from Lisanna, Mirajane's and Elfman's younger sister. Now Natsu was hoping that a dragon would crack open the egg, but instead a blue colored cat came out instead. I think this is a cool character, and as time goes on, he will become even more popular in the manga and with the anime series. For now, grab your pencil and a clean sheet of paper because it's time that you learn “how to draw Happy from Fairy Tail, step by step”. Peace out people, and happy drawing!

STEP 1.

Drawing Happy is going to be fun because he is a cat. Start with a circle for his head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then draw another small egg shape for his body and then add the outlined shapes for his beautiful wings. And lastly, draw a long line for his tail.

STEP 2.

Drawing Happy, step by step takes place now. Start by sketching out the top part of his head and then draw the cat ears. Detail inside of the ears with a few small lines. You will then sketch out the side of his face, and then use the facial guidelines to draw in the circles for his eyes. Add the eyebrows and move to the next step.

STEP 3.

Add two colored in dots for his pupils and or eyes, and then finish off his face by sketching out the nose, and mouth. Since Happy is a cat, his mouth will have jowls. Finish the shape of his face and then start sketching out the shape of his body including the arms, and hands. Once that is done you can draw his tied scarf that he wears around his neck.

STEP 4.

All you will do here is completely draw out Happy's wings which are a bit angelic looking. Start with drawing the wing bone, and then slowly draw in each feather so your end result looks like the wings you see here.

STEP 5.

For your last drawing step all you have to do is draw out the rest of Happy's body which would be his legs, feet, and tail. When that is done you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 6.

Look at that! You just learned "how to draw Happy from Fairy Tail, step by step". See how awesome you did. All you need to do now is color him in! Great job, now stay tuned for his partner Natsu.
