Star Wars is one of my favorite sci-fi movies and there is good reason why. From the time I was only eight years old, I fell in love with the saga. The whole story line and concept was so mind blowing, creative, and unique. I had never seen anything like it before in my life. That is when I knew that I wanted to be an artist to design and create my own monsters and alien beings. Jabba the Hutt, Chewbacca, Tusken Raiders a.k.a Sand people , Ewoks, and especially the tauntaun. This creature is a tall ice like lizard that resembles that of a camel. In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Luke is seen being pulled from the belly of this creature in efforts to keep Luke from dying of hypothermia. Anyways, let me talk about what this lesson is all about before I get lost in my train of thought. This tutorial is going to be on “how to draw Princess Leia, step by step”. I am so proud of this drawing because Leia came out looking so pretty. Most of us only know her to be Luke's sister, Darth Vader's daughter, and the love interest of Han Solo. But have you ever wondered exactly who she is, and how she became to be the rebellious woman she is. For starters her full name is “Leia Organa” and she is from the planet “Alderaan”. She was adopted and raised into the Royal Family, and began her life of accomplishments at a very young age. Leia was the leader of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, and for a long time she had no idea as to who she really was. As you all know from the Clone Wars saga, Leia's father was Anakin Skywalker and her mother was Padmé Amidala. Because Anakin later turned to the dark side, and became Darth Vader, the pregnancy and birth of Luke and Leia was keep a secret. Obi-Wan is the one responsible for keeping the children hidden away from Vader and the Emperor. He sent Leia to live with his good friend Bail Organa on Alderaan, who was into politics which is why Princess Leia was involved with the Rebel Alliance, and the youngest senator to have ever served on the Imperial Senate. All in all this character was created by the very gifted and talented George Lucas, has a lot more to her background. You can always learn more about Princess Leia. Have fun with this lesson that will teach you in full detail, “how to draw Princess Leia, step by step”. I will be back momentarily with some other cool tutorials that I think will be a hit real soon. In the mean time, adios amigos, and happy drawing!
