So, you always wanted to learn how to draw comic book heroes and villains huh? Well, join the thousands of people that want that very same thing. I for one am a big fan of drawing villains because villains happens to be some of my favorite characters in my choice of anime/manga series and books. Of course there are always the villains from Marvel and DC Comics that are also so amazingly awesome. This tutorial that I am about to submit is going to show you “how to draw villains, step by step”. There are all types of bad guys that are written into stories whether that story is from a comic, a movie, or just a plain old cartoon. One thing is certain, even though there are all different varieties of bad guys, villains, antagonist, or whatever you want to call them, they all have the same goals in mind; power, domination, and money. It's funny because all three achievements that these nasty evil doers try and claim, all mean essentially the same thing. Think about it, you can't gain power without domination, and you can't obtain domination without money. All in all I feel that money, is the root to becoming a successful villain in any storyline for any show, comic, or movie. For example, Batman is always fighting off crime right? Well, when he catches the criminals what are they being caught doing? Stealing. They all steal for money, so that they can gain power, so that they can conquer and or dominate. Now here is the funny thing. For manga and anime series and comics, money is usually not the root to all evil, it's power, domination and control. It's so weird when you break down exactly what a villain is. I know one thing, you will all have fun learning “how to draw villains” with this step by step drawing tutorial. Because there is all kinds of bad guys, I drew three different looking antagonist that you would commonly see in any story, muscular, thin and tall, and then of course big and bloated like The Kingpin from Daredevil. I hope you like what yo are about to learn. I will be back soon with more drawing fun. Peace out and happy drawing!

How to Draw Villains

how to draw villains step 1

STEP 1.

As with some of my tutorials, I have included a step that gives you some good pointers and tips on how you should draw your villain. Read along and maybe you will learn something new.

STEP 2.

Here is one more tip that you should follow before you draw out your villain. It talks about the eyes of bad guys and how they should look. Slender sleek looking eyes are usually the best to draw because villains are sneaky, sly individuals.

STEP 3.

Since you will be drawing three different types of bad guys, this tutorial will take longer than most. Start by drawing the head shapes for each individual, and then add the facial guidelines. Next sketch out the shapes of their torso's and then draw the arm shapes.

STEP 4.

Now you can start sketching out the shapes of each face you see here. The slender villain's face will be drawn from the side. Next sketch out the beginning lines for their hair lines and then for the oversized villain, you will draw out the eyes, and mouth.

STEP 5.

As you can see when you are done with this fifth step, your antagonist's are going to start looking whole. You will sketch out more of their hair styles, and as you can see the big guy on the bottom has a hairdo that looks very much like a sumo wrestler. Start sketching in the eyes, noses and mouths for the two villains above, and then finish off the bully's face as you see here. Sketch out the back of his neck and right shoulder. For exaggeration purposes, you can even add a bulging vein like I did here.

STEP 6.

You will completely sketch out the hairdo's for the top two criminals, and then start sketching out their chests, arms, and muscle definition, especially on the character down below.

STEP 7.

You are almost done with this tutorial. Continue to sketch out the bodies for all three villains and as you can see you will also have to add some definition and detail. For the top left character, sketch out his sash and detail it as well. Draw the hands for the sumo looking guy, and then finish sketching out the slender villains body and coat. Since this is your last step, all you have to do is start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 8.

Here is what your cool looking characters should look like when you are done learning "how to draw villains, step by step". Now you can color them in, finish off their bodies and then that is it.
