How to Draw a Christmas Scene
“Tis the season to be jolly, tra la la la la, la la la la.” It's official, there is only four more days left until Christmas day and three days until Christmas Eve. You didn't think I was going to let Christmas come and go without doing a tutorial that shows you “how to draw a Christmas scene, step by step” did you? For those of you that know my style, you should know that I am always in touch with the seasonal holidays. I drew a Christmas scene that displays the very essence of what Christmas Eve looks like in the perfect home. There is a fire burning in the fireplace, a nice big, full Christmas tree, there is three stocking hanging above the fireplace with care, in hopes that Saint Nick will soon be there. Ah... just kidding. Anyways I wanted the scene to look cozy, warm, welcoming and of course Christmasy. I love the way that the drawing came out, and as you can see I really emphasized on the tree and the table that has a plate of cookies and milk for the big guy, Santa Claus. For those of you that want to draw a gift for your loved ones or one, this is a perfect scene to draw. You can also customize the drawing by adding a person or two either sitting in the chair, or near the tree opening Christmas presents. I can't believe X-Mas is already here, I hope that you all have a happy holiday, and an even better New Year. For some of you, your new year has already come and gone. But for me here in the states, I have to wait until midnight on December 31st. Anyway, I think you guys will love this tutorial because it is the perfect view of how a warm seasonal day is imagined to look. I drew what was in my head, and how I imagined what a room would look like if I passed by a window on the street and glanced in on a snowy day. Learning “how to draw a Christmas scene” is going to be some real good fun for all of you that try out this tutorial. I will be back in a bit with some more cool lessons on the way. STEP 1.
Since there is multiple objects you will be drawing in this tutorial, you will be drawing different types of shapes and guidelines. Start with the guidelines for the table located at the bottom of the canvas. You will then draw the guidelines for the fireplace which looks like a three stem candle holder. Next, draw the rounded outlined shape for the big tree.
STEP 2.
Now you will start sketching out the long tips of the pretty Christmas tree. Because I want the tree to look full, you will only be drawing have of the tree shape and size. Once that is done you can then draw the criss-crossed lines that you see up at the top of the tree.
STEP 3.
Thicken the lining for the round table as you see here and then draw in the plate with the cookies on it. Next draw some pretty wrapped Christmas gifts that you see under the tree and then move to the next step.
STEP 4.
You are almost done with this tutorial. All you have to do now is start sketching out the brick layered fireplace as you see it here. Once the shaft of the fireplace is drawn, you can then start sketching out the stocking that are hung with care. I drew in three, but you can add or subtract as many as you like. Next draw the flames for the burning fireplace, and then draw the logs and a few more presents. Make sure you leave a squared spot open for a picture.
STEP 5.
This is the last drawing step and all you have to do is draw the shape of the shape and design of the chair, and then draw the pretty holiday picture above the fireplace. Once that is done you can decorate your tree with some garland and ornaments as you see here. Erase the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 6.
This is how your drawing should look when you are done. Color it in and you have yourself a fantastic drawing on "how to draw a Christmas scene."Comments: Post Comment
