Yesterday I was supposed to upload a lesson that teaches you "how to draw a pyramid" but I totally forgot about it. So today I will start the day with that very same tutorial. Pyramids are awesome creations and they are also probably one of the most mind boggling pieces of architect in existence. The very first pyramid that the Egyptians built was in 2630 B.C. by Pharaoh Djoser, and it's location is in Saqqara, which is south of Cairo, and it stands at two hundred and four feet high. Pharaoh Djoser originally intended to house his mummified body in the pyramid. This creation was called a "Step Pyramid", and in it's earliest form, it had a flat-roofed mastaba. A mastaba is a typical tomb structure that the Egyptians built back in the early days. Back in those days it was the largest building anyone had ever seen. From the influence of of Djoser's Step Pyramid, another Pharaoh named Snefru began his own building adventures and built many other pyramids with one of them being the first structure with an above-ground burial chamber. This creation is called a "Maidum Pyramid". Pharaoh Snefru began building this pyramid as a seven stepped structure. It wasn't until the laborers got to the fifth level that Snefru changed his mind and wanted an eight step pyramid. When all was said and done the structure stood three hundred six feet tall. If you were to travel to Maidum today, all you would see is the three highest steps. Over time all the sands, and debris covered a majority of the pyramids structure. Later, the very same prolific builder, Pharaoh Snefru, tried to build a smooth sided pyramid, but that design didn't come out the way he had hoped. When the attempted structure was finished, the deformed pyramid stood at three hundred forty four feet high. He attempted this building in Dahshur, but when the project went bad, he sent his laborers back to finish his first pyramid. Okay, so we have Snefru who attempted to build two pyramids so far right? Well I guess he was going for the long hall because he wasn't done trying to build a smooth sided pyramid. The "Red Pyramid" was created. This awesome structure had only one burial chamber, but it was a success to his original dream. The completion of the Red Pyramid wasn't done until after Pharaoh Snefru passed away. It was his son, Pharaoh Khufu, that ordered his father's structure to be finished. Once finished, the creation stood three hundred forty one feet high. Now came 2550 B.C. and with this time came the creation of the "Great Pyramid". It was Snefru's son, Pharaoh Khufu, who built the worlds first great pyramid and today it is labeled as one of the great wonders of the world. Khufu who was the second ruler of the forth dynasty, moved to Giza, which is north of Cairo. Now according to ancient historians of the past, Khufu enslaved his almost all of his people to build the pyramid that we gawk over today. It stands at four hundred eighty one feet high, and it is the first to have an erect triangular shape. The Pharaoh also made sure that his creation had three burial chambers. It was built using 2.3 million stone blocks, and it is said that each block must have weighed about fifteen tons. This pyramid creation is truly a wonder being the largest pyramid ever built. The lesson that I will show you, teaches you "how to draw a pyramid step by step". All you have to do is follow the steps and instructions and yo will be on your way to drawing one of the easiest pyramids around. I will be back later, so stay tuned in. Hope you had fun with the read, peace out and happy drawing!
