Okay get ready to load up and fire. This is a fun tutorial on how to draw a MK 153 SMAW rocket launcher step by step. Now this is one lean mean piece of military machinery indeed. Everyone is familiar with one of these weapons because we often see them in action movies, animated cartoons, and even comedies. The specs on the MK 153 SMAW rocket launcher are pretty incredible. The primary function of this weapon is basically a portable anti armor launcher. It is 29.9 inches long when carrying and it extends to a full 54 inches when you are ready to fire it off. When walking around with the rocket launcher expect to carry almost 17 extra pounds on your shoulders, and when you are ready to fire, it can weigh up to 30 pounds. The effective range that one of these units can reach is 860 feet for a 1x2 target and 1,640 feet for a tank sized target, pretty impressive huh. These powerful weapons where introduced in 1984 and the average cost of the MK 153 SMAW rocket launcher is around $13,000. They where mainly used for destroying bunkers and other fortifications. They are also used to destroy battle tanks with the HEAA rocket. The SMAW MK153 Mod 0 launcher is based on the Israeli B-300, it has the following; launch tube, spotting riffle, a firing mechanism, and it also comes with mounting brackets. The launching tube is made up of fiberglass and epoxy with a gel coating on the bore. The spotting riffle is of British design and it’s attached to the side of the launching tube. There are currently over 1,300 models in stock and are currently being used by the United States Marine Corp. Since I couldn’t find a good image to sketch from I used the rocket launcher form a game I play called Frontlines. The rocket launcher used in the game looks a lot like the real thing. So there you have it, how to draw a MK 153 SMAW Rocket Launcher. The step by step instructions are really easy to follow and understand. I hope you enjoy this tutorial, and I will see you again next time.
