Description: Okay who is ready to get down and start sketching a short stubby looking dog? This tutorial will teach you "how to draw a basset hound". With these dogs they are described as being sweet, gentle, devoted, peaceful and naturally well behaved, making them a gem to own. They are a good dog for any family to own, and love, making them a great apartment sized dog or a regular sized home pet. The Basset Hound is mild but not timid; very affectionate with its master and friendly with children. They love doing tricks for food and snacks which make them very smart fast learners. The Basset Hound is a dog with one of the most noticeable barks by any dog species; they have a deep musical bark that seems to linger as they stop barking. Getting a hounds attention when it has a tantalizing smell locked in is almost nearly impossible. Even though this breed of dog seems like a perfect pet, there is only one true draw back; they are very hard to house train to use the bathroom outside, but with persistence and patience the basset hound will pick up the command soon enough. The dog’s description is as follows; they have a large head which is round, long floppy ears, sad droopy looking eyes that may seem red at times, their skin is loose fitted and folds on the head and legs, the jowls or lips hand long and loose, the paws are big and may seem shorter in the front and longer in the back, their nails are very strong and can leave a good scratch if they are not trimmed down, the hounds coat is short, hard and shinny which means that shedding of this animal is very minimal. They range anywhere between 12-15 inches in height (yes they are very short and stubby), their weight runs between 50-60 pounds. I know a small dog like the basset hound weighs an awful lot. I like these dogs and I may just get one. This tutorial will show you "how to draw a hound", step by step. The instructions are so simple to understand and read. I hope you enjoy this tutorial on one of the friendliest dogs around.
