How to Draw a Cartoon Cat
This is my first tutorial and I hope you all enjoy it. Drawing cartoon cats was one of the things that got me started on drawing. It makes a perfect introduction to those who want to learn sketching and drawing. I did a front view and a 3/4 view. Have fun!

STEP 1.
Start off by drawing a circle for the head, and add the facial guidelines as shown. Draw a smaller circle just below the horizontal line. The smaller circle should look like the vertical line divides it in half.
STEP 2.
Next, you should put a triangle for the nose about one third from the top of the smaller circle. Draw a line from the triangle going down another third of the way. Add ridges where the mouth will be, going from the bottom of the line you drew to the outer edge of the small circle. From the top of the trianle, draw two lines leading to the horizontal line. Add two ears. (on the 3/4, the farthest ear should be slightly smaller)
STEP 3.
Now, add the chin as shown and complete the eyes. Make sure the bottoms of the eyes are on the horizontal line. Add pupils to its eyes and add a few shines. You can also adjust the head shape; two common ways are shown here.
STEP 4.
Finish off the ears by adding the insides. Fill in the pupils, and add some fur above the eye if you want. Complete the muzzle and add some dots. Adjust the nose so that it looks more real. You can make a she-cat by darkening the upper line of the eye and adding eyelashes. You can also add some fur on the top of its head, as shown in the 3/4.
STEP 5.
Now, erase all the guidelines you started with. Add whiskers. Now you can add fur patterns and color your draawing in. You have now completed "how to draw a cartoon cat".Comments: Post Comment
