How to Draw a Cartoon Unicorn
I wanted to draw a cool looking cartoon animal that falls under the fantasy category. I will show you "how to draw a cartoon unicorn step by step”. There is already an animated unicorn from the movie “The Last Unicorn” that I drew some time back. So if your thinking that the one in this tutorial looks similar to the one drawn from the movie, you are right. I was inspired to draw a cartoon unicorn that has some characteristics from the anime movie. I did have fun with this lesson, and I look forward to drawing many more just like it. The unicorn is a very beautiful mythical beast that is mentioned in plenty of books, movies, and tales. One of my favorite movies that has one of the most beautiful unicorns I have ever seen in a flick is “Legend” which was one of Tom Cruise’s very first movies. The two horses in that flick were amazing and I really felt like they were totally real. Anyways, this lesson should be pretty easy to follow and understand. You can play with the colors when it is time to shade in your cartoon unicorn. I chose a blue color for the hair which means that this unicorn could be of either gender. If you want a pretty girly looking animal, all you have to do is add some long eyelashes, and color the mane and tail pink, yellow, or any other pastel looking shade. STEP 1.
To start this step on how to draw a cartoon unicorn you will need to draw a circle shape for the head and then add the facial guidelines. Next draw the shape and thickness of the neck, and attach the lining to another circular shape which is for the cartoon unicorns body. Add a butt end shape and then draw four leg guidelines.
STEP 2.
You will start this step by sketching out the shape of the eyes and then color in the pupils. Draw the shape of the snout and then add a dimple for the horses nose. Lastly, sketch out the front lining for the unicorns wavy mane.
STEP 3.
Finish sketching out the long pretty locks of the cartoon unicorns mane and then draw the shape of the horn. Add the horn's detailing and defining lines as you see here, and then draw the tips of the ears. Take your time when draw the mane out because you really want to make sure that it comes out nice and wavy looking.
STEP 4.
In this fourth step you will start sketching out the shapes of the legs and then the belly of the cartoon unicorn. Once that is done you can draw the lining for the back and then sketch out the shape and style of the tail.
STEP 5.
This is your last drawing step for your cartoon unicorn. All you have to do is finish drawing out the legs and then draw the hooves. Once that is complete you can add some detailing to the tail and start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 6.
Here is what your finished cartoon fantasy character looks like when all is said and done. Color it in and you have completed this lesson on "how to draw a cartoon unicorn step by step".Comments: Post Comment
