How to Draw a Cartoon Griffin
The next lesson that I will be uploading is going to be on a fantasy creature that has been very popular with children and adults around the whole world. For the second tutorial of the day I will show you “how to draw a cartoon griffin”. The griffin is a very versatile creature that is used in many, many, feature films and animations. There is griffins in the Harry Potter books and movies, and there is griffins in the new AVATAR movie by James Cameron. There is also many more flicks and books that use these creatures as aids. I wanted to draw a cartoon style griffin because that is a fantasy character that I do not have n cartoon form. I did do a lesson on a cartoon phoenix and other animals. I think I will do some more cartoon fantasy creatures for you all in the future because that is a category that needs to be explored a bit more. I had a lot of fun drawing out the cartoon griffin live two days ago and I tweaked it a bit before I actually made an attempt to upload it today. Yesterday was my day off which is why I wasn’t on live. But I will be there today and I will be drawing some tutorials that will be going up tomorrow. The cartoon griffin is going to be an very easy online drawing lesson for you guys to follow and complete. All the steps are pretty simple to follow and the instructions are easy to read. Let me get going so you can start sketching out, and learning from this awesome tutorial on “how to draw a cartoon griffin step by step”. Adios amigos and happy drawing.

STEP 1.
You will start this first step on how to draw a cartoon griffin by drawing the guidelines and shapes like you always do with other tutorial first steps. First draw a circle shape for the head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then draw a dash for the neck and then draw the arched shapes for the wings of the griffin. Draw another shape that looks like an egg for the body and then add the leg and feet shapes.
STEP 2.
You will now use the facial guidelines you drew in step one to draw out the griffin's eyes, and beak as you see here. Since you are drawing a cartoon griffin from the front view your beak will look a bit different.
STEP 3.
As you can see you will start sketching out the shape of the cartoon griffins head which contains it's ears as well. The lining for the head and face shape should be a bit jagged because these creatures are full of feathers and fur. Move down a bit to start sketching out the side of the shoulders and then sketch in a nice piece of fur detail down the chest.
STEP 4.
Continue to sketch out the shape of the front of the griffins body as you see here which includes the legs this time. When you are done you can then move to the next drawing step that will bring you closer to the completion of this tutorial on how to draw a cartoon griffin.
STEP 5.
Add some detailing to the chest to show where the chest line starts and ends as you see here. And then sketch out the rest of the cartoon griffins legs that are a bit feather at the ankles.
STEP 6.
Now that you have reached your last drawing step you will sketch out the wings first and then make sure you detail and define them the way you see therm here. Once the wings are all set you can then sketch out the clawed feet both back and front and then sketch out the hidden back legs as drawn out for you here. Lastly sketch out the tail the way you see it in the step. Erase the guidelines and shapes and then move to see what your cartoon griffin should look like now that you are done.
STEP 7.
