Did you always want to learn “how to draw an arm” that looks like the ones used in movie props? Well, as you know I like drawing cool stuff and I also like Halloween. I was looking for a tutorial yesterday on the web that gave a lesson on "how to draw an arm step by step”. Unfortunately I did not find one. So that is what made me want to do a lesson on an arm. And instead of doing a drawing on an ordinary arm, I drew one that looks very similar to the ones you see in the store when you are looking for a costume for Halloween, or when you want to decorate your yard with gravestones, human limbs, and skulls. I personally think that this arm came out wicked cool and I know some of you will not approve because of the blood and such. I just want to remind you guys that this is purely drawn out of fun for the Halloween season. If you don’t want the gory details for this arm, all you have to do is leave out the blood lines and draw the finger nails to look clean and clipped. All in all I think in the end you will like this lesson on “how to draw an arm step by step”. I have to go because there is more work to do and other lessons that are waiting for my attention. I hope you guys have fun with this creepy tutorial on a Halloween arm. Peace peeps and happy Halloween!

How to Draw an Arm

how to draw an arm step 1

STEP 1.

The tutorial itself will be in four different views of the arm you will be learning how to draw. For the full sized arm you will need to draw the shape of the forearm which looks like a cone. Next draw the shape of the hand that resembles a bell and then draw the finger lines. To the left hand side you will also draw three circles for the different views of the arm, hand, and finger.

STEP 2.

For the hand you will start sketching out the finger shapes and then the knuckle lines. Next draw the beginning finger shapes for the front view of the hand on the top left hand side of the tutorial step. You will also be drawing the inside of the arm which you see here. There is two bones you need to draw and detail. Lastly draw the shape of the single finger and the torn finger nail.

STEP 3.

For the full sized arm you will start sketching in the actual shape of the arm, wrist, and hand. Draw the rest of the finger shapes and then draw the nail lines. Next draw the arm for the front view version and then finish off the fingers for that one as well. Sketch out the lining for the front view of the exposed arm which should look like torn skin. Lastly sketch out the single finger and add some torn detailing to the fingernail.

STEP 4.

You will finish drawing out the shape of the arm and then draw the two bones that are called the radius and ulna. Once that is complete make sure you sketch out the tissue lining for the top of the torn arm.

STEP 5.

This is the part where you can add the blood lines if you want. If you choose to sketch out the detailing blood lines and ripped tissue above the thumb, you will follow the steps here. Of not, you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
