How to Draw Neytiri from AVATAR, Step by Step, Movies, Pop Culture, FREE Online Drawing Tutorial, Added by Dawn, September 4, 2009, 12:26:35 pm

Start with the guidelines and shapes for the body of this Na'vi alien. First draw a circle for the head and then add the facial guidelines. You will then draw out the guidelines that make up the body's frame. This includes the torso, arms, hips, and legs.

STEP 2.

In this second step you will start sketching out the shape of Neytiri's face and then her right pointed ear. Next start the drawing process for her eyes, and then her hair.

STEP 3.

Continue to sketch out the right side of her face and then begin drawing in her braided hair strands as you see here. Next sketch out Neytiri's eyes in more detail and then define inside of her ear. You will then draw the shape of her mouth and draw the choke like necklace around her neck.

STEP 4.

You will start working on sketching out the left side of Neytiri's face and head shape. Once that is done you can sketch out the other half of her braided hair strands and be sure to draw in the beads as well. Begin sketching out her torso and her beautiful feathered necklace or plate. You will end this step by sketching out her shoulders, and breast lines.

STEP 5.

You will now start drawing out the slender shape of her Na'vi body as you see here. Her torso is long and thin and posture is upright and bold. Once her torso is drawn out you can then start sketch in out her loin cloth which is the only form of clothing that the Na'vi people wear. Draw the arm band on her right arm as well before you go.

STEP 6.

Finish drawing out Neytiri's arms and then her hands. Remember Na'vi alien hands have long slender fingers. Once the hands are drawn in you can then draw the layered bracelet on her right wrist and then the forearm band on her left arm. Add detail and definition too.

STEP 7.

Sketch out Neytiri's clothing which is just a piece of cloth that covers her genital area, and then begin sketching out her long slender legs thighs only. See how easy it is learning "how to draw a Na'vi alien step by step"?

STEP 8.

Here is your last drawing step and all you have to do now is sketch out the rest of her legs and then draw out her long panther like tail. When that is done sketch out the leg band that is right below her knee cap, and then start sketching out her feet, toes and toe nails. You will now start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 9.

Here is what your princess Na'vi alien should come out looking like when you are done. Color her in and you have just learned "how to draw Neytiri from AVATAR step by step".

lol awesome Dawn this movie was alot like pochohantus lol but it rocked harder than it wow I think that the Na'vis could pwn native americans (lol sorry but its true) no offense to anyone rock

Artist CommentsI’m sure you know that James Cameron is coming out with a new flick called AVATAR. When I first seen the preview for the movie I was amazed at what I was watching. The characters looked absolutely awesome, and the beasts and animals where so colorful and creative. Because I feel so strongly about how awesome this movie is, I am going to do a tutorial on one of the main characters from James Cameron’s new movie. What character you ask? Well that is simple. I am going to show you “how to draw Neytiri from AVATAR step by step”. As you can imagine there is very little information on this particular character so the description will be very brief. Now Neytiri is a princess Na'vi which is a race of sentient extraterrestrial humanoid beings that live on the moon Pandora. To the humans that travel to Pandora, they call these fascinating beings Pandorians or locals. The Na’vi people are absolutely graceful in every way. There bodies are sleek, slender, and long with cat like long tails. Their faces are extraordinary because they are so elegant and fierce at the same time. The story is laid out to be an epic adventure that takes it’s viewers to a new world that is filled with fascination and mystery. One of the other main characters of the flick is called "Jake Sully" and he is a solider that is sent into this world to save a civilization while he leads a heroic battle. Neytiri is the princess of the Na’vi people and she falls for the human man and he falls for her. Neytiri is a beautiful Na’vi that has wonderfully piercing eyes and a beautiful heart. All Na’vi people look very much like felines crossed with humans. Their eyes are twice the size of ours and when they are fully open, and they dominate their matte blue faces. Their mouths and or lips are full with the top lip being cat like, and they have pearl white teeth with a set of canines. They have these small iridescent spots and lines that are perfectly laid out in a symmetrical pattern on their bodies. The small illuminating dots glow at night which makes them even more beautiful. Anyway this tutorial came out pretty cool and I think you guys will like learning “how to draw Princess Neytiri step by step”. I didn’t want her to come out too complex so I sort of drew her in a cartoonish like form. I drew this Na’vi live and I had a blast. I have to say I think James Cameron outdid himself once again and I look forward on going to the theater to watch AVATAR when it is released on December 18th.
