I want to submit a lesson on something from the human body. It is nothing that you can see externally, in fact the only way to see what I am going to show you to draw, is by looking in a picture book, or an x-ray. I know you already know what this lesson is going to be on because you can see the picture as clear as day. But just for the heck of it, I am going to show you “how to draw a brain” step by step. The brain tutorial that I drew is very simple and basic so that everyone can sketch it out and draw. Of course I could have done a more detailed and complex brain, but that is not what I was going for. The brain is a very fascinating part of the human body. The biggest part of the brain is called the “cerebrum”, and this part of the brain makes up eighty five percent of it’s total weight. What does the cerebrum operate? Well, the cerebrum is the part of the brain that does all the thinking, and it also controls all the voluntary muscles as well. Voluntary muscles are of course the parts of your body that move when you want them to. Which means without your cerebrum you wouldn’t be able to walk, dance, jog, play sports, brush your teeth or anything that you are telling your body to do. Remember what I said, the cerebrum is also the part of the body that does all the thinking as well. So when your in school thinking real hard to solve a math problem or when you have to answer questions that involve you to think, that is your cerebrum. Now the cerebrum has two halves, the right side and the left side. According to scientist, the right side of the brain allows you to think about all the abstract things like music, colors, shapes, and so forth. The left side of the brain is your analytical half which is what does your math, controls your speech, and keeps you thinking on a logical level. What the strange thing is about the cerebrum is that the left side of the brain controls the right side of the body, and the right side of the brain controls the left side of your body. Now lets talk about the other part of your brain called the "cerebellum". The cerebellum is located in the back of the brain just under the cerebrum. This part of the brain is much, much smaller than the cerebrum. It’s about one eighth of the cerebrums size. What does the cerebellum control? Well to start with it is a very important part of the brain because it controls all of your balance, movement, and coordination. So when you stand up straight or when you walk on a beam and keep your balance, that is your cerebellum controlling your every coordinated move. The other parts of the brain are also important like the "brain stem", which sits under the cerebrum and in front of the cerebellum. The brain stem keeps you breathing, it circulates your blood, and it digest any kind of food that you put in your mouth. Is that all you ask? Nope, there is more. You also have a pea sized part of you brain called the "pituitary gland". This part of the brain controls the hormones in your body to make you grow, and puts you through the stages of puberty. There is also the "hypothalamus". This part of the brain is your body’s thermostat. Which means that your body should stay at a steady 98.6 degrees at all times. If your body temperature stays at this level, than your body is working fine. The cool thing is when it is really hot outside, the hypothalamus tells your body to sweat. And if your body is too cold, the hypothalamus tells your body to shiver. Well I hope you learned some good information about the brain before you actually draw it. I have to go because there is more lessons to submit. Have fun learning “how to draw a brain step by step. Peace out folks and happy drawing.
