How to Draw a Palm Tree
For those of you out there that love plants this tutorial is for you. I noticed that I didn’t have a lesson on “how to draw a palm tree step by step”. Now everybody loves these trees because it reminds them of the summer breeze, the beach, and the tropical waters. The palm tree is often confused with the coconut tree and there is good cause too. The tree that produces such awesome fruit is called a coconut palm tree. They are part of the same family and I am not even going to sit here and act like I am some kind of tree expert because I’m not. These trees are seen and noticed in places like California, Florida and other coastal and southern states. There is so many different variety of palm trees in existence and they are all related in some way. They all have that layered trunk and or stem, and they also have their long green fan like leaves. Palm trees are not only popular in the south, they are even being shipped and grown out in the northern states as well. Of course the trees that are shipped up north need extra care and attention. Proper handling and maintenance is required to keep the northern palm trees alive because naturally the plants are native to hot climates not cold winters with snow and all. This tutorial I drew is very simple so that even a child can draw out this tree. All the steps are easy to follow and the instructions are simple to read. I think you will find that learning “how to draw a palm tree step by step” is a fun way to add some character to your sketched out beaches and cityscapes. STEP 1.
Draw a slanted vertical line for the stem of the palm tree. You will then draw a circle for the top to be used as a guideline shape. You will then draw five lines within the circle shape for the fan like leaves.
STEP 2.
You will now start using those leaf lines and sketch out the four big leave shapes that you see here. Add some definition and detail as well.
STEP 3.
Draw in the rest of the leaves and then start sketching out the top part of the tree trunk as seen here which looks like a squared block.
STEP 4.
here is your last drawing step and all you have to do now is sketch out the rest of the palm tree trunk which is drawn in blocks and or layers. Sketch out some of the sandy beach sand and erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 5.
When you are done with your sketch your drawing should come out looking like the one you see here. Color it in and you have just finished this tutorial on "how to draw a palm tree step by step".Post a comment
