Description: Superheroes can sometimes be fun to draw because they are so cool looking, or they can be boring to draw because they are so hard to figure out. I myself love drawing all kinds of superheroes and villains from DC Comics or Marvel Comics. Both comic book companies are essentially one and others enemies. Like Marvel may see themselves as the good guy and DC may see themselves as the bad guy or vise verser. One of the most recent comic book characters that I drew was Storm and she came out awesome. I also redid Wonder Woman because the original looked gaff. Well for today I am going to fill another request and this time it is going to be on a comic book character that began his existence in 1940. So without further ado I will be showing you "how to draw the Green Lantern" step by step. There is a new movie set to be released in 2011 called “The Green Lantern” and Ryan Reynolds is going to play Hal or Harold Jordan. The Green Lantern started off as being Alan Scott who was transformed into the hero when a mystical green flame meteor fell on earth in China like a thousand years ago. Since the movie is coming out next year I will be talking about Hal Jordan who was the second generation Green Lantern. Hal was a test pilot and as a kid he knew he would follow in his dads footsteps and become a test pilot as well. I don’t know the whole story of Hal Jordan or Green Lantern because I never really got into the character too much. As the story goes, he was given a power ring by a dying alien named Abin Sur. Abin Sur came to earth because his spaceship crashed on our planet. As he gave Hal the ring he had to make sure that the power ring was going to somebody that was born without fear and who was an honest man. He then took the rightful place of Green Lantern and later became a part of the Justice League along side of Superman, Wonder Woman, Vixen, Firestorm, Doctor Light and others. Now that the movie is coming out I can really get into this superhero to find out the real story behind the mask. His suit is all in green and he wears a green eye mask. This tutorial will show you "how to draw Green Lantern step by step". He really isn’t all that hard to draw out because I did a really easy drawing of him. I have to bounce outta here so check you guys out later. Peace out peeps and happy drawing.
