Learn to Draw Fred from Scooby Doo

1

This first step is going to be about drawing the outer frame work for Fred. These guidelines help you to keep the sketch in proportion. Starting at the top draw an egg shape for the head, then lining for the collar and shoulders. Draw the arm lines s

Now in this step sketch in the subtable face guidelines to help draw his eyes, nose, and mouth in portion. Then what you want to do next is sketch out his hair which looks like a typical 70s dew. After you do that draw out his shirt collar and the be

Now here in this last step all you are going to do is detail Fred's face, neckerchief, hands, and shoes. I would start at the face just to get that over with. Sketch in simple line work to draw out the shape of his eyes, nose, and smirky smile. Then

4

Draw the tie and the collar which should be even within the middle symmetry of his face.

5

Then, start drawing his torso, working from left to right. Draw from right to left if you're a left handed artist.

6

Sketch the legs and the flared bottoms of his pants next. Take your time.

7

Lastly, draw his hands, and the shoes. I would advise drawing little by little rather than drawing everything in one shot.

And here is what your finished Freddie Jones should look like when you are done. All that is left to do is color him in with his typical colors of blue orange and yellow. After you are done coloring him in you should submit your work to show it off.

Description: Okay let’s add another member to the Scooby Doo family. This tutorial will show you the typical way to draw Fred from the funny cartoon series. Who is Fred? Well for starters his full name is Frederick Herman Jones, or for short “Fred” or “Freddie”. We all know him to be the leader of the Mystery Inc. pack who has a thing for Daphne and himself. At times Fred can be into himself more then anything. Fred is also the sole driver for their retro van the Mystery Machine, which indecently resembles a VW bus. His personality is seen as being somewhat brave, and intelligent. Fred is the one that loves building Rube Goldberg traps which is a complex trapping system that can take a few minutes to explain how they work. To better explain his character I’d have to say that Fred is everything Shaggy isn’t. What is the one thing that visually describes this cartoon character? You got it, his neckerchief. Fred also is the one that’s in charge of telling the gang to split up with his famous quote “Okay gang lets split up” he would have two search groups, usually Shaggy and Scooby Doo are the ones left to fend for themselves while Fred has the two girls Velma and Daphne tag along, but at times you see Velma hunt for clues with the burnout duo. Fred is a fun laid back character from the Scooby Doo gang. I am going to submit tutorials on the remaining Mystery Inc. group. This tutorial like I mentioned in the beginning of the description, will teach you how to draw Fred from the Scooby Doo characters. The instructions contain only four steps, and they are easy because it is your typical Fred Jones sketch. Have fun and see you next time.
