Here is a cool and different lesson that will show you the basics of color theory. Choosing colors to shade in your drawings with is much more complex than anyone realizes. I had to learn first hand on how the whole color wheel works and how to combine colors to end up getting a shaded picture that is all color matched. You see, color theory creates a circular combination of definition, concepts, and design applications. When you see a color wheel it may look pretty and contain all the colors of the rainbow, but these colors make up all the colors that are used when you pick and choose the shades you want to color with. A color circle is based on red, yellow, blue, the three basic colors. Do you know who developed the very first circular color diagram? It was Sir Isaac Newton and he did this back in 1666. Because of his creation, scientist used the diagram to study all different types of concepts. Does anybody remember the three primary colors? If you said red, yellow, and blue then you are absolutely right. The three colors are used as the base of all colors and it is with these three colors that other colors are made. Secondary colors consist of green, orange, and purple. These colors are created when you mix the primary colors are conjoined to make different shades. For example, blue mixed with red makes purple, red and yellow make orange and blue and yellow make green. See how easy that is to understand. Well anyway there is a lot more to be said about color theory and if you are really intere4sted on how to combine colors to get a mixture of harmony, than I suggest you get a nice color theory book. I have so many tutorials to upload still and it feels like I will be here for years. I will be back in a while but have fun with this tutorial on "how to color drawings" step by step. Peace out peeps and have fun.
