This is going to be a lesson on a very cool lamp that I actually have in my room. I will be showing you “how to draw a lava lamp step by step“. The lava lamp is a very retro piece of lighting that is very cool and weird. I say weird because, does anybody really know how all that muck gets twirled around inside and what that substance is even called? I did some research and found that lava lamps are filled with water and wax. The lamp itself is tall and tapered, and it is filled with a water substance that contains an additive of glycerol. The wax mixture is a bit denser than the water when at room temperature which is why when the light is off it sinks to the bottom. When the wax is heated with either an incandescent bulb or a halogen bulb, the wax will rise upon the occasion. Depending on the lamp brand, your light bulb will heat up the mixture and make the wax more light enabling it to float around in the water substance. The wax when heated rises and falls in bubbly balls. The design and concept of the lava lamp is pretty neat. Did you ever wonder though who invented this novelty item? It was a man by the name of Edward Craven-Walker, he was from Singapore and somewhere during the 60’s he invented the lava lamp. The lamp comes in a variety of colors, and if lava is not what you want, then you can also purchase a glitter lamp, which has the same concept too. This tutorial will show you “how to draw a lava lamp” step by step. I hope you enjoy this lesson, I will be back with more drawing fun. Peace out amigos!
