1

Draw a circle for one part of the tarantula's body which is the thorax, and then draw out ten lines for the legs and the pedipalps.

2

You will now start sketching out the sections of the tarantula's legs as seen here and as you can see they are in three different parts. You will then draw out the lining for the chelicerae which is the short stout shape of the head of the tarantula.

3

Finish drawing out the shape of the legs and then draw out the shape of the abdomen.

4

You will now sketch in your shading on the tarantula's body to emphasis the hair and then texture of the outer surface. Before you start adding your shading, you should first erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

5

This is what your cool spider should look like when you are done. What you have to do now to finish your sketch is color in your work. That is it, you are done with learning "how to draw a tarantula" step by step.

Description: When you think of spiders you will probably get a mental picture of the most scariest spider you can think of. For me, the tarantula comes to my mind and for good reason too. But before I get into some of the facts about this creepy spider, let me just tell you that you will learn "how to draw a tarantula", step by step. Now for those of you that don’t know, the tarantula is the largest spider in existence with over eight hundred different species worldwide. The tarantula like all spiders, are apart of the arachnid family and this particular breed live from Africa and Madagascar, to parts of southern Europe, parts of Asia, Australia, the middle east, and many more locations that I will not list because I have a feeling you get the point. These spiders are not only the biggest spiders in the world, they are also the hairiest. Their bodies and legs are covered with hair and they range in color as well. The tarantula can either be tan, brown, black and even a reddish color. The average size of a tarantula is three inches long and between two and three inches tall, now that is a big spider. Imagine stepping on something that big? Eww. Anyway male tarantulas are much more slender and longer than their female counter parts. Did you know that tarantulas have an exoskeleton? It’s true, these spiders have an outer shell with a fused head and thorax that is connected to a narrow waist and then onto their oval looking abdomens. Do you think it’s true when they say that spiders have more than two eyes? Well for the tarantula, they have a total of eight eyes that are grouped together on their forehead which is cut into two sections. Pretty neat huh? They even have a set of fangs as well which is used to inflict bites when they feel threatened. How about that age old question that is floating around, are tarantulas poisonous? Yes they are, but in a mild way. American tarantulas use their barbed like stomach hairs to penetrate into the skin which will cause an aggravating pain. There is no long term illness from the bite of an American tarantula. Anyway I think you guys will like this lesson on “how to draw a tarantula” step by step. I shall return in a while so stay tuned in for more drawing fun.
