How to Draw a Fantasy Fairy

1

Let 's start like I always do and that's by drawing the guidelines and shapes to create the framework of the fantasy fairy.

2

Starting with the face, begin sketching out the structure or outer lining of the face to form the indents of the eye, cheek, jaw and chin. Once that is done you can add the simple line for the neck and draw out the traditional fairy ear.

3

Up next, draw out the face which should include the eyes, nose and mouth. When that is done you can begin drawing her long chunky locks. I made her hair curl at the ends because I wanted her to have a wild, carefree style. Once you are done with the

4

Continue to work on the hair by adding more length and more volume. Also sketch in some definition and detail to her back creating a nicely sculpted frame and physique.

5

Now that the face and hair are done, we can work on the rest of the body starting with the arm, hand and chest.

6

Here you will begin drawing in the draping wings. They are long, and drape down like a pair of old curtains.

7

Once your wings are set, draw in her thigh, leg and foot. Also sketch in some of the rear that is barely visible.

8

Draw in the opposite leg and foot, then proceed to step nine.

9

Finally, all you will do here is draw the circular pattern that is on the wings. Of course you can go for your own wing design, but these match the effect I was looking for. Erase all the mistakes and guides, then you're finally done.

10

Here is the line art. All you have to do is color in the drawing and add this drawing to your book of fairy art that you have created over the years of drawing.

Description: Hello one and all! It's nice to be back and with my return I will bring with me a few tutorials that I know some of you have been thirsting for. I will start by uploading this concept on how to draw a Fantasy Fairy, step by step. She is a piece of art that I made while working on other projects. I love how she came out, her perfect flight with tattered wings give this piece a sense of sadness, despair and solitude. Anyways, I won't talk too long because I know you guys just want to get down and dirty by tackling some art that you've been thirsting for. Have fun, and remember to stay creative even if you don't see anything new from me. I promise to try and get new tuts uploaded when I'm not too busy. Enjoy this lesson on drawing a fantasy style fairy.
