How to Draw a Derby Car

Start with a Twinkie shaped guide which will be the body of your derby car.

Up next, let's draw the body of the car starting with the front fenders, hood, headlights, and then back end. Notice the contours of the car.

Okay, now we will be drawing the top of the car start with the roll bars and then the visor.

You can now add the detailing to the hood, then draw the windshield wipers, and one of the bucket style seats.

The lower boxy shaped guide will be drawn in next. Once that is done you can add detailing to the headlights and visor. Once that is done draw the two lights that rest on the roll over bars. We will also draw the other bucket seat and the driving whe

The body of the car is done in the front, so what we will need to do is draw the over sized tires with the deep dish rims. Add the license plate numbers and state you would like, then proceed to step seven.

The last drawing step is simple. All that needs to be done is to draw the back wheel and rim. Add body detailing and you can erase the mistakes and guides.

Here is the line art once you are all done. Now you can go ahead and color in your derby car.

Description: I know there are folks who have been waiting for a new lesson or new lessons on cars or any type of vehicle. So today I will be showing you all how to draw a derby car, step by step. The reason why I chose a derby car is because where I live, there are a lot of races and events that include derby cars. Whether it's mud races or simple run races, I think this derby car came out awesome. The fun big wheels and open sides is definitely something I've never drawn before.
