This tutorial is all about the Giant Panda Bear, and they are so cute. Drawing a panda bear is fairly simple, not too many steps, but we’ll talk about that later. First let’s learn some interesting facts about the Giant panda bear. Let me start off by saying that these bears are in fact an endangered species with only 1,000 in existence. They mainly live in central China, in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and in the Gansu provinces. Pandas prefer to live in dense forests that are flourished with lots of bamboo trees and foliage; they need this because their diet contains the consumption of 99 % bamboo. They live at elevations as high as 10,000 feet at elevations this high; the forest receives lots of torrential down pours that later form dense clouds that help their habitats stay green and full of food. Most people, “like me” see pandas as being cute and harmless, but they should in fact be treated like any other bear that lives in the wild. Giant panda bears are the same size of black bears and weigh around 200-250 pound with females just barely reaching 220. These bears are recognizable by the public with their black and white markings. They have two black circles around their eyes, one bold thick black strip that runs perfectly around the upper body and coats the entire front legs and paws, and the hind legs are all black as well. Scientist thinks that pandas have a lifespan of only 30 years and reach their mating maturity around 8 years old. Females carry two young for a total of 95-120 days. One baby panda usually won’t survive and the reasons for that are still unknown. Pandas give birth to baby’ 1/900th the size of them almost like the kangaroo. Both parents are so enormously bigger then their young, simply incredible. Besides eating all day pandas also spend a lot of time loafing around and sleeping. The instructions on "how to draw a panda", step by step are very easy to understand and read. Children will also have fun drawing the panda. Well see ya later ya’ll.

How to Draw a Panda

how to draw a giant panda bear step 1

STEP 1.

Okay this step has alot of circles to it so you can draw the panda bear a whole lot easier. Start off by drawing a perfect round circle for the head. The draw a very large circle for the upper body, and a bit smaller one for the lower part of the body. Next draw two small circles just a bit smaller the the head fro the leg and arm muscles. From the front draw two pointed lines for the outline of the front leg and a line on the hind leg that comes from the small circles with a shoe shape circle for the back paw.

STEP 2.

Now in this step as you can see you will be drawing the ears, front and back legs and part of the jowls. Start by sketching out the ear shapes similar to a wolf. Then lightly sketch a plus sign in the middle of the face so you can draw the eyes in portion in the next step. Fluff up around the face and outline the lines for the front and back legs as shown above.

STEP 3.

Now as you can see the panda is taking form and we are only on the third step. Sketch out the eyes using the lining you drew in step 2. Then draw in the nose which is just a small shaped snout. When drawing the puffy outlines try and make it seem like fur.

STEP 4.

Draw the beginning body to the panda. When you sketch out the top part of the body, try to make it fluff by adding light pencil strokes overlaying each other. If you need a guide to find out where exactly the markings go just scroll to the top and preview the finished image again. After you do everything in this step erase all the guidelines and pencil marks on your sheet of sketching paper and proceed to the next step.

STEP 5.

Here you have the last step to completing the Panda. See how cute he is? In this step we will use the guidelines to help draw the arms, and legs. This is probably going to be a bit hard. Imagine if you didn't have the guidelines? You'll probably never get to draw it right.
