1

Make a small circle and then draw the guideline for the branch.

2

Up next, draw the actual shape of the branch. This should include the odd shape and the bump at each part of the limb.

3

For the next step you will need to draw in the leaves which are curled over the sides. This is the beginning formation of the bud.

4

Next, draw more of the leaves budding from inside the tree branch bud. Add the small curls over the sides and you are ready for step five when done.

5

For the last drawing step all you have to do is draw a bit more of the budding foliage. This time make it clustered because it is flowing from the center. Add some sprigs of flowers and you are ready to erase the mistakes and guides.

6

That's it, here is your line art. Now you can have fun coloring in your budding branch. For me this is the budding crab apple tree.

Description: Now that the warm weather is here, more and more plants are blooming and I'm not just talking about flowers. When I was on a walking trail I came across a tree that just started budding. Today I will be showing you how to draw a budding branch, step by step. This is obviously a tree branch and I'm pretty sure it was a crab apple tree that this drawing was inspired from. I don't do enough plant and tree lessons so for me this is something different. I do hope you like the tut, I will be back soon with more lessons for you all so stick around.
