The next lesson that I will be giving you is very emotional and even a bit disturbing. For those of you that are religious and believe in Jesus Christ, you might look at this image and think to yourself “wow, he truly died for our sins”. Of course not all religions believe in Jesus or the concept that he was the son of God. The crucifix is a cross with the tortured body of Jesus Christ nailed to a wooden bed. Of course it is the Christian faith that this symbol is used in. Although the crucifix itself is primarily used in Catholic Churches, and even some Lutheran churches as well. To Catholics they believe that a cross with the crucified body of Jesus represents how Christ sacrificed his own soul to save mankind. Christians believe that Jesus’ death brought the redemption of mankind. Large crucifixes is a dominate image that is commonly seen behind the doors of most catholic churches. Statues of the Virgin Mary is also another image that Catholics will worship and pray to. Now I have read in the bible that “no man shall praise to a false image of God”, or something like that. I think that means we as followers should only praise the lord spiritually within ones self. But I could be wrong, I mean I’m not a preacher, a pastor, a priest, or even a nun for that matter. All I know is that I myself believe in God. My love for him is limitless and I know that he loves me no matter what I might be. The image that I will be showing you how to draw is powerful and even angelic with the large wings which represent how God his father is holding him up through his pain and suffering waiting for him to pass so that he can take his son to sit by him in the kingdom of heaven. If you notice I also drew the small inscription above Jesus’ head which says “INRI” this short for the Latin words “Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm". The Romans primary language was Latin and those words translates to “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews”. It was the hands of Pontius Pilate who wrote those very words and he is the one that tried not to condemn or crucify Jesus at first, but then he sentenced him to death by crucifixion because that is what the people wanted. A Roman solider is the one responsible for places the “crown of thorns” upon Jesus’ brow. I was actually going to do a tutorial on “how to draw the crown of thorns”, but chose to do the crucifix instead. Anyway, I have to go right now because I have a lot of work to do. I will leave you with this lesson on "how to draw Jesus on the Cross", step by step. Have fun and remember to take your time and concentrate. Peace out and happy drawing.

How to Draw Jesus on the Cross

how to draw a campfire
how to draw jesus on the cross step 1

STEP 1.

There is six steps before your completion of this tutorial. What I want you to do first is draw the guidelines and shapes of Jesus's body. Start with a circle for his head and then draw out the shapes for the body frame. Once the shapes are drawn out you will then draw the limb lines for the neck, arms, and legs.

STEP 2.

As you can see you will start sketching out the shape and style of Jesus's long shoulder length hair and then sketch in his beard, the crown of thorns, and his beard. You will then draw out the arms and torso shape. Detail the torso and then move to the next step.

STEP 3.

Now that the upper body of Jesus is drawn out you can start drawing out the shape of the cross as you see here. Next finish drawing out the shapes of the arms, hands, and then draw the waist, loin cloth, and then Jesus's legs and feet.

STEP 4.

Now that Jesus has a full drawn out body you can draw out the guideline shapes for the enormous wings that you see here. Next detail the loin cloth with some crease lines and then draw out the bottom of the cross. You will also write the letters "INRI" on the scribe above his head.

STEP 5.

This is your last drawing step and what you need to do is draw out each feather shape for the large angelic wings. After that is done you can start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.

STEP 6.

This is what your sketch should look like when you are done. All you have to do now is color her in and you have just finished learning "How to Draw Jesus on the Cross step by step".

why would you say that? Jesus Christ died for you and you insulted my religion. if you believe that he died for your sins you will have everlasting life instead of going into speechless and dying...... maybe you should change your mind and believe that he died for you..........
