Drawing Pocahontas Step by Step

1

For the first step, we will leave out the guides and just begin by drawing the profile of her pretty face. Start with the forehead and then slowly proceed down to create the nose, lips, and chin. The jaw line or structure is also there, but it is sor

2

Completely draw almost the rest of her hair. It should be very long, very straight and it should also be blowing or flowing in the breeze. There is also a part line on the top side part of her head that you need to draw in as well. Add the neck shape

3

Let us now get started with the body. Draw in her shoulder, then draw the shape of hourglass body or figure starting with the chest. When that is nicely drawn in, you can draw the arm and hand resting on her belly. Define the stomach and draw the arc

4

Up next, we will draw in her shirt which is made of leather or hide. There are spaces at the bottom of the skirt and there should be a simple designed waist.

5

Let's add the band around her torso to complete the top she is wearing. Once that is done draw the upper arm band and add the native design lines on her strap and bands.

6

Add some tattooed marks on her arm and wrist, then draw the legs.

7

Lastly, finish this art off by drawing in her hand as it is relaxed on her thigh. Erase the mistakes and guides as well.

8

The line art should come out looking like the drawing you see here. Just color her in and show the artwork off by uploading it to Dragoart.

Description: There are many ways to draw a really nice version of Pocahontas and because she was an actual real person or Native American, you don't have to go about it in a Disney drawing style fashion. Now because this new version of Pocahontas is non Disney related, I really wanted to embrace her beauty while she was in her Native American look and style. It is thought and believed that she was a beautiful creature and because of this Captain John Smith was taken by her even at her young age. When Pocahontas transitioned from her native land to English soil, her name changed to Rebecca and it was then she married John Rolfe. Anyways, I do hope you enjoy this lesson. I shall return with more tuts for you all so stay tuned in. Adios amigos!
