Mechanical Eagle Drawing Lesson

1

Make the guidelines for your eagle by drawing the head and body guide shapes. When that is done draw the lining for the wings.

2

Up next, draw the structure of the eagle's head and beak. As you can see the beak is hook like and has a couple notches. Draw in the smoke stacks connected to the head, then draw in the eagle eye.

3

Here you will draw in each long mechanical feather for your eagle's wings. This will also form the back of your eagle. Draw in the chest and talons and then draw the tongue in the mouth.

4

Work on the second wing. This tine the wing is less detailed as the left wing. Add some space feathering to form the wing.

5

Up next, draw in the smoke coming from the smoke stacks. The smoke should flow over and around the eagle. Add detailing to the wings which should look mechanical or metal.

6

Almost done folks. Draw the wrench which is being held by the talons and then draw in the eagle legs.

7

For the final drawing step you will draw in the long eagle tail feathers. Since this is a mechanical eagle, the feathers should be stiff and spaced. Erase the mistakes and guides as well.

8

This is the line art now that you are done. Color in your mechanical eagle and that's all there is to it.

Description: This is a concept piece that I worked on last night and it stems from a drawing I did for someone in my neighborhood for the hood of their Jeep Wrangler. Here is my drawing of a Mechanical Eagle, step by step. As you can see this eagle is all metal. It sort of reminds me of the mechanical owl from Clash of the Titans and I'm not talking about the new remake of the old eighties film. This eagle has a huge wrench gripped in his talons and there is also smoke coming from the horns of his head. The horns are actually smoke stacks that you would often see on jacked up trucks or other vehicles. Anyways, this will be a challenging lesson for anyone who is a novice artist. It's actually a great practice piece that you can tackle to challenge yourself artistically. Anyways, enjoy and be sure to let me know what you think by leaving some feedback.
