Monster High Face Drawing Lesson

Start with a simple circle and draw a cross. Keep the vertical line as straight as you can and try keep the horizontal line symmetrical.

Draw a jaw line on either side connecting to the bottom of the vertical line. Add guidelines for the features. For the eyes just draw slightly bent rectangles, a line for the nose and a shape for the lips.

Thicken the line for the eyes. Keep it thinner near the inner corners and rounder on the inside of the eye. Start the guide for the nose where the eyebrow will be. Draw down and bend the line, for the tip of the nose, on the guideline and curve t

Draw in the eyelashes. Keep the top lashes curves and the bottom lashes straight outwards. Draw in the shape of the lips around the guideline using the bottom of the nose to determine the size.

Thicken up the jaw line and add in a small neck and shoulders, keep the shoulders the same width as the head. Draw in circles for the eyes outline. I like to keep the line thicker at the top of the eye and thin it out as it approach the bottom of

Using the line made from the nose add eyebrows, try keep them as symmetrical as you can on each side. Draw in an eye lid just above each line. Add highlights to the center of the eye. A circle at the top and a triangle at the bottom.

Add flat colours to the drawing. Typically I like to keep skin colours pale and very muted that way you can add brighter eyes and lips.

Draw in shadows and highlights on the skin and the characters make up. Shade the lips by adding in a darker and lighter shade and drawing small flicks of PURE white. This works for all shades even dark ones. Shade the bottom of the nose with a
