1

Make two shapes to form the hourglass. At this point the shape looks like an 8.

2

Make the ring at the top of the hourglass case and then proceed to step three.

3

We will draw the base of the frame and then move to step four.

4

Define the shape of the glass and then draw the level line for the blood, or you can draw sand.

5

Lastly, draw the ends of the frame which are nicely detailed wooden pieces or pegs. Erase the mistakes and you're done.

6

This is the line art folks. All you have to do now is color in the hourglass and show off your work.

Description: I had an idea to make a tut on how to draw an hourglass so instead of doing something typical, I gave this hourglass a twist. The sand is replaced with blood and the way it flows is all gooey. Just because this is an hourglass, that doesn't mean it needs to be shaped like your typical timer. For a simple task or object idea, this was a fun lesson to make. I hope you have fun drawing an hourglass. I will return soon.
