Drawing a Chimera Step by Step

1

Start off with a body guide which is the body, two heads and guidelines for the limbs and snake tail.

2

We will start with the lion first. Sketch in the snarling snout and then draw in the chin, whiskers and nose. Add some shading to the wrinkles for depth and definition.

3

Sketch in the face which is just the eye, and lining for the mane that frames the lions face and head.

4

We will now draw in the large puffy mane that goes over the entire front part of the chimera's body. When that is done draw in the ears.

5

Before we tackle the goat or ram head for the chimera, we will draw in the wings. These wings should be tattered and not incredibly large.

6

Finish the mane and then proceed to step seven.

7

Now you can tackle the ram or goat head. Notice the head is a profile view. Add the tip of the nose and then the curled back horns. Don't forget to draw in the eye too.

8

The front legs of a chimera is made up of lion legs. Draw the toes and nails and then draw the stomach and ribs.

9

Next, draw in the back part of the chimera's body. This is the goat like part of the body so be sure to draw hooves for feet and not paws. Add some muscle definition to the hind legs and some definition to the body.

10

Finish everything off by drawing the long snake tail. Add the head of the snake and then draw the slithering tongue. Sketch in the scales and you're done. Erase the mistakes and guides too.

11

When all is said and done your drawing should come out looking like the one you see here. Good job folks. Color in the drawing and show off your work.

Description: Well, this is the last fantasy tut that I will upload today. It's a really nice concept of a Chimera, and today I will be showing you how to draw a chimera yet again. Out of all the chimeras I have drawn, this is my absolute favorite. I think all three heads of the different animals came out amazing. They showcase their own animal personalities perfectly. You can see all three such as the goat, lion and snake. If you are a novice artists I suggest you tackle one of the easier lessons on drawing a chimera first, then proceed to tackle this one. Don't give up, just take your time. I will be back soon with more fun for you all so stick around.
