How to Draw a Horse Step by Step
I had a ton of fun yesterday with you all and I can’t wait to do it again today. Yesterday I forgot to submit the fire horse drawing that I drew the day before. I wanted to draw a cool looking horse that would be good enough for a tattoo design. So in this lesson I will be showing you "how to draw a horse step by step" tattoo style. I say tattoo because once in a while you will see someone with a nicely drawn out design of a horse that is either galloping, running, or just standing still with it’s mane blowing in the breeze. I had so much fun sketching out this horse and in the end I think it came out awesome. Drawing horses is so fun because they are so versatile when it comes to poses, design, look, and boldness. As you can see from the horse you will be learning to draw, he is very powerful looking and you can definitely tell that he means business. I like to think that this is my version on “how to draw a black stallion” but I guess in the end stallions, mustangs, and appaloosa’s are all from the same family. When you learn "how to draw a horse", you will get a lesson that will leave you wanting more. The best part of this tutorial is the way you will be learning "how to draw a horse mane", it is flowing and long with style and class. STEP 1.
Start with this drawing on how to draw a horse with a few circles and guidelines to form a frame for your animal tattoo that you are about to draw. Start with a circle for the face and or head of the horse, and then draw a nicely curved neck line. Next, draw two more circles, one for the chest and one for the hind quarters. Draw the front leg lines and then hind leg lines.
STEP 2.
Okay lets start having some real fun. Start sketching out the shape of the horses head and then sketch out the flowing style of the horses mane. Next sketch out the horse ear and then the eye. This particular horse was once held captive but now is a free spirit, what I want you to draw to convey this is draw out the neck brace on the neck.
STEP 3.
Sketch out more of the horses mane as you can see here and then sketch in the detailing definition lines on the face of this angry looking horse. Draw the spikes on the neck brace and then sketch out the long chest hair and then add some muscle definition.

This particular horse has lots of long hair on the legs, chest, mane and tail. You have to sketch out the thickness of the all the horse hair that you see on the legs, chest and tail. Once that is done you will start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 6.
Here you have a fully drawn out horse that is both beautiful and bold. All you have to do is color in the horse and then you have yourself a finished tutorial on "how to draw a horse step by step".Comments: Post Comment
