Start with a round shape for the head of the skull and then sketch in the facial guidelines and wing guides.

Use the facial guidelines to draw out the eye hollows. They should be large and wide and should have enough detailing around them. Once that is completed you can draw the nasal cavity along with some definition along the sides of the nose.

We will now add the top shape for the skull's head like so, then draw in the pretty, simple shaped wings for the moth part of this skull design concept. When that is done draw the antenna and you can proceed to step five.

Finally for your last drawing step, all you will need to do is draw or color in the thick trim or border on the outer parts of the wings. Once that is completed, create your design on the inside of that border. You can choose to follow the pattern in

Once everything is done and you have erased your mistakes and guides, the line art to your drawing should look like the skull moth you see here. Color it all in and you're done.

Description: Here is another skull design that I think you will all love and enjoy. Today, we will be learning how to draw a moth skull, step by step. I know that moth's don't really have skulls, but the design concept is pretty cool. I do know that there are some moths that resemble skull faces and I'm not sure what species it is, but I think it may be the Death's-head Hawkmoth. Anyways, this lesson took me about three hours from start to finish and I think that most folks will enjoy the tut because I know how popular skull lessons are on Dragoart. Well, I guess that's it. Have fun and make sure you tell me if you liked this lesson.
