How to Draw Okami Amaterasu from Okami
I am about to submit my last drawing lesson that I drew live yesterday and it came out wicked awesome. The tutorial that I am uploading is going to show you “how to draw Okami the wolf” step by step. Now this character is from the Capcom video games called “Okami”. The wolf character in the game is not named Okami, it is actually “Amaterasu”. Now, I never played the video game but from all the raving about it I’m guessing that it is pretty darn good. I went to the Capcom site for Okami and read what the game was about, and from what I understand Amaterasu is the main hero character and it is up to him to restore peace to the land freeing it from all the different creatures that roam all over the earth, and to regain the 13 powers of the “Celestial brush” that he once processed. The land didn’t always have these problems like it does now, in fact, Kamiki Village seemed to be a pretty peaceful place to live for humans and animals alike. Sadly the village was cursed by the evil “Orochi” who came back to life. Once he cursed the village, everything that held any kind of life at all was destroyed. Now Amaterasu, is actually a sun-god embedded in a wolf’s body. It is up to Amaterasu to once again defeat the evil monster Orochi like he did before one hundred years ago with the help of a mysterious spirit fairy named Issun. Together they will work to take down Orochi and restore peace and happiness to the earth. This tutorial will show you "how to draw Amaterasu" step by step. I drew every step to the best of my ability to be easy to follow and understand. I hope you all like this tutorial, I will be back tomorrow with more drawing fun.

STEP 1.
In order to draw Amaterasu you need to draw three circle shapes, one for the head, one for the torso, and one for the butt end. Draw the facial guidelines on the head shape and then add the limb guidelines.
STEP 2.
Okay now start sketching out the shape of Amaterasu's head, snout, jaw, ears, and then the back of the neck and the chest. Sketch out the front leg and then add an eye and a nose.
STEP 3.
You can start sketching out fur detailing on the front part of the body as you see it done here for you. Add darkening lines around the eye which is almost like cyan lines. You will then sketch out some detailing on the ears and then sketch out the front paw and claws. Draw more horizontal cyan lines above the shoulder and end this step with the addition of the back paws.
STEP 4.
Okay now some of the Okami wolf has tribal designs as you see here in the form of swirls and fire like shapes. You will sketch out the front leg the way you see it done here and then add some flaming lines above the disk.
STEP 5.
Begin to sketch out more of the spiritual lining shapes and then add flames to the top of the disk like plate. Sketch out the hind legs and the other front leg.
STEP 6.
Sketch out more tribal flames in the back of Amaterasu's body as seen here and then start sketching out the wolf tail the is drawn with the incorporation of tribal design lines.Finish off his inner hind leg and paw and then sketch in some detailing to the rest of the body.
STEP 7.
This is your last drawing step and all you have to do is sketch out the hind leg that is stretched back and then sketch in the rest of the tail and tribal lines as seen here. You will want to start erasing the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
STEP 8.
Here is what your final gaming character should look like from the popular game "Okami". Color in the wolven hero and then you have finished learning "how to draw Amaterasu from Okami" step by step.Post a comment
