How to Draw Anime Characters

1

Since we are drawing two characters you will need two head shapes as well as two shoulder guidelines. Sketch in the facial guidelines as well.

2

Begin with the character to the left. Define the shape of his face and then include an ear. Sketch in the hairline which is low on his brow.

3

Up next, draw in the thick lining to form the shapes of the eyes like so. When that is done you can add a crinkle between the eyes.

4

You will now finish the eyes and then sketch in the inner ear detailing as well. Once that is done you can draw the drips of black down the ends of the mouth, then add a piercing to the bottom lip. Sketch out the anime character's nose as well.

5

Draw in the neck and shirt collar followed by the crinkled clothing which will make up the shoulders, and arms or sleeves.

6

Okay guys, we will finish the first anime character by drawing the head and hair. This should be long and pointed on the sides. When that is done draw the hand and all the wrinkles on the shirt.

7

Begin drawing the face for your other anime character. This is just the lining for the nose, lips, chin and jaw line.

8

Using what you made in step seven, draw in the thick, bold shaped eyes like so, then create the mouth, other side of the cheek and then some lashes.

9

Draw in the long, straight hairstyle next, then add the trim line across the bangs. Don't forget to add the bun too.

10

Lastly, draw in the neck and the upper body as well which is covered by a shawl of some sorts. Add the crinkle, wrinkle, folds and creases to add texture detailing to the clothing. Erase your mistakes and guidelines.

Here is the line art for your anime characters drawing. If you want to add or take away something go right ahead, but when you're done, be sure to color in the drawing.
