How to Draw The Scream, The Scream of Nature

1

We will first draw the head shape for the figure, then draw a stick like body. Off to the left you will draw two lines which will end up being figures walking on a pier.

2

Next, define the shape of the figure's head, then draw the long hand shapes that are placed on each side of the face.

3

Here you will draw in a simple face. This is made of dots for eyes, dots for the nostrils and then a simple O shaped mouth. Draw the neck and collar line as well.

4

We will now draw the body which is a one piece design. He is painted to look stretched.

5

Up next, begin drawing the railing that is part of the pier that the figure is standing on. You can use a ruler in this step if you like.

6

Create the dreamy looking sky which is also known as the horizon. As you can see the background sky should look almost like a nightmare.

7

We are almost done folks. Up next, draw the silhouette of the figures waling in the background. They are to look like spooky shadows lurking.

8

Lastly, once your guidelines and mistakes have been erased, the line art comes out looking like the drawing you see here.

9

And here is what the sketched image of The Scream of Nature looks like without color. This was a neat lesson to make, I just hope you folks like it as well.

Description: So you know how I made a drawing lesson on Starry Night from painter Vincent van Gogh? Well, I have another lesson that will show you folks how to draw The Scream, step by step. This painting is another popular piece which was painted by Edvard Munch and it's actually part of a series called The Scream of Nature. In all painting the figure is always made with an agonized expression followed by an orange colored sky. The lesson it self will show you how you can paint or draw your own replicated version of The Scream using simple to follow steps. I think you will notice that the figure in this concept looks a lot like the villain from the movie 'Scream'. Anyways, have fun and let me know if you like this lesson.
