The Ruby-throated Hummingbird is a very beautiful species from the Trochilida family. There are very few birds that I find eye appealing because a lot of them look dirty. In my personal opinion, the smaller the bird, the more delicate and colorful they are. The ruby-throated hummingbird is identifiable by the color of their throat and the feathers on their back which are always an iridescent green. This bird is also very small, only 3-4 inches long and weighs from 2-6 grams. WOW, now that is small. The ruby-throat is the only species of hummingbird that actually breeds in North America. Not all of these birds have a ruby colored throat though; it is only the males that have the colorful addition added to their color scheme, the females are left looking like males, they even weigh more, and the males look like females, weird huh. Just like many animals of the world, it is a very common thing seen, males having more added character in their body types that make them look more feminine, and the females have more masculine dull qualities to their build. The female ruby-throat makes their tiny little nest out of spider webs and plant particles, and when the baby birds are ready to leave the nest their considered full grown adults. The ruby-throat hummingbird almost sounds like someone humming in your ear when in flight, and they also have a soft rapid squeaking chirp as well. Wanna read something cool, their wings actually flutter 80 times a second, and can fly 25 miles an hour, now that’s impressive. I think that this tutorial is a fun way to use your imagination when it comes to coloring your sketch because you can make this bird any color of the rainbow you want, just as long you give it a shade of green on the back. You will learn to "how to draw a hummingbird", step by step. And with the easy to read instructions, you will be drawing birds all day long like a pro. Okay that’s enough from me, now you get to work and have fun!
